| Skagen Men's Titanium Watch w/ Link Band #105LTX | ||

| This is my third Skagen watch. It's quality is far below the other two which, by the way, were significantly less expensive.
The band is a total pain to re-size and has an unfinished, rough-edged feel. Can't return under Amazon's watch policy or I surely would. Stick with a model with a woven or leather band and you'll be far more satisfied. | ||
| LaCie 16x LIGHTSCRIBE PORSCHE USB 2.0 DVD DL (300783U) | ||
![]() | "High Hopes Dashed" | 2005-12-09 |
| The only compelling reason to get this drive is LightScribe technology... Well, it does what it says - however: 1) LightScribe took almost 18-minutes to render / print a modest design (like the one pictured on the box). 2) Very Macintosh unfriendly. Drive doesn't ship with Mac OS X support, although it can be downloaded from LaCie. 3) LightScribe label software for Mac OS X purchased separately. Regards other aspects of the drive: 1) Cheap plastic enclosure trying to look like metal / trying to look cool. 2) USB 2 support ONLY - why not USB and FireWire? 3) For the size of the enclosure, it should have an internal power supply, however, it has an inline brick. Another disappointment from LaCie. I'd return it, but I don't want to stiff the retailer with an open box. | ||
| Seagate ST3160024A-RK 160 GB External USB 2.0/FireWire Hard Drive | ||
![]() | "Cool & Quiet - Great with the Mac!" | 2004-07-09 |
| Forget LaCie (have had >6 arrive DOA); Maxtor is loud, hot and heavy (had one arrive with loose parts rattling around inside) - the champ is this Seagate! Runs cool and quiet, no REALLY quiet. We buy dozens of drives (major movie studio) and these are the best we've found, short of building our own. Pros: Lightweight, quiet, cool, instant setup (Macintosh). External power supply uses standard line cord (not a funky appliance cord) so if it gets lost, we have another (or 100) hanging around. Ships with MacOS X (and Windows) software that features P.H.D. (Push Here, Dummy) backups. Cons: External, inline power supply (easily lost in shipping) has no label pairing it with the drive. If they get separated, you're S.O.L. Must have an internet connection to install software. Plastic enclosure, while 1/3 lighter, might fracture if you dropped it on a tiled floor. Conclusion: Highly recommended - Best-of-Breed for out-of-the-box, external drive. | ||
