I am writing a review on the legendary landmark album entitled "RELOAD" by one of Rock's all-time greatest bands ever. I give you one of America's pride and joy's and favorite sons, M-E-T-A-L-L-I-C-A! "RELOAD" was originally released in 1997 on Compact Disc on the Elektra Records label which is a division of Warner Communications Inc., a Time Warner Company. METALLICA will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest songs ever. If that wasn't enough, METALLICA will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. 1996 was a very good year for METALLICA with the release of their successful "LOAD" album followed by their incredible World Tour in order to promote their new album. By this time, the band had matured personally as well as musically and it evidently showed in their music on their recent "LOAD" album. When the tour ended, the band would return home triumphantly only to enjoy and live the good life with the many fruits and rewards that awaited them. The band would live comfortably going into 1997 and it was during this period that METALLICA was getting the urge and feeling hungry again to get back to their music and not rest on their laurels just yet. Once the band finished writing the new songs for their new album, they, or should I say lead vocalist, guitarist and frontman James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, lead and rhythm guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Jason Newsted would become very eager in heading back into the recording studio and lay down the tracks for their new follow-up album which is the same album I'm about to review for all of you today. When Elektra Records received the reel tapes of the band's finished product, Elektra Records would release the new album now entitled the "RELOAD" album in 1997. In my opinion, the "RELOAD" album is without a doubt, another true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. The "RELOAD" album is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that is still truly indeed, far ahead of their time. The "RELOAD" album is the tales and continuing adventures in the life and times of the METALLICA saga. Their Hard Rockin' music is their story that speaks for itself. The METALLICA "RELOAD" album from 1997 does not waste any time and begins with the electrifying as kickin' Hard Rocker "Fuel," the slow mindblowing as kickin' Hard Rocker "The Memory Remains," the bass pumping as kickin' Hard Rocker "Devil's Dance," the beautifully slow as kickin' Hard Rocker "The Unforgiven II," the incredible as kickin' Hard Rocker "Better Than You," the amazing as kickin' Hard Rocker "Slither," the breathtaking as kickin' Hard Rocker "Carpe Diem Baby," the remarkable as kickin' Hard Rocker "Bad Seed," the slow horrific turned fast as kickin' Hard Rocker "Where The Wild Things Are," the blistering as kickin' Hard Rocker "Prince Charming," the slow and mild Hard Rocker "Low Man's Lyric," the fast and energetic as kickin' Hard Rocker "Attitude" and the slow as kickin' Hard Rocker "Fixxxer." I would like to thank and commend METALLICA for delivering another hell of a great album to Rock n' Roll. Hetfield's horrific lead vocals and high vocal ranges hit their mark extremely well thus resulting in interacting with the music incredibly well and taking it to a different level. Hetfield's rhythm guitar riffs and licks were breathtaking resulting in interacting remarkably well with fellow rhythm and lead guitarist Hammett thus taking their music to another level unimagined. Hammettt's merciless guitar riffs and licks lit up the music by daring to push it to another level and achieve the sound to its fullest and maximum potential. The band's rhythm section comprising of powerhouse drummer Ulrich and bassist Newsted backed up and complimented both Hetfield and Hammett extremely well. Drummer Ulrich contributed very well by keeping perfect timing with his own personal touch of drumming techniques and patterns while laying down the foundation of the band's special unique blend of sound. Newsted's incredible bass patterns and chords would contribute in setting the pace and tone of the music thus keeping the music together as one unit creating one sound of music. Well done guys. I would like to highly recommend in purchasing this legendary album for everyone of all ages to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. This treasure album has aged extremely well through the years and has already proven to stand the test of time. This priceless gem will always be around to be enjoyed, appreciated and cherished for many years to come, NOW AND FOREVER. METALLICA still has so much Rock n' Roll life in them to give to the world. Knowing all of this, METALLICA has forever left their place and mark in Rock n' Roll history and their many numerous contributions, accomplishments and achievements as band members, will never be forgotten or denied. With this in mind, there will also be many more new tales and stories in the METALLICA legacy and saga that will still need to be told and written in many more new pages and chapters. "PURPLE" was originally released in 1994 on Compact Disc on the Atlantic Records label. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest songs ever. If that wasn't enough, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. When lead vocalist and frontman Scott Weiland met up and joined forces with lead and rhythm guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, the line-up would be complete and Seattle, Washington would give birth to the band that would be known only as STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. Following the success of their 1992 debut "CORE" album, the band would also enjoy an extremely successful World Tour in promoting their debut album. The band was now enjoying the fruits and rewards of their newfound fame but the band was not about to rest on their laurels just yet. It is now 1994 and time for the band to head back into the recording studio and record the follow-up album to their extremely successful debut "CORE" album. The question on everyone's mind besides the music critics is that can STONE TEMPLE PILOTS record a better follow-up album than their successful debut album? It would not be very long before the whole world would get their answer. When STONE TEMPLE PILOTS released their follow-up "PURPLE" album in 1994, it blew the Rock n' Roll world away. Music critics were praising the album as being even better then their debut "CORE" album two years before. In my opinion, the "PURPLE" album is without a doubt, another true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. The "PURPLE" album is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that was truly indeed, far ahead of their time. The "PURPLE" album is the tales and continuing adventures in the life and times of the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS saga. Their music is their story that speaks for itself. The STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' follow-up "PURPLE" album from 1994 does not waste any time and begins with the incredible as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Meat Plow," the breathtaking as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Vasoline," the amazing as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Lounge Fly," the blistering as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Interstate Love Song," the slow as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Still Remains," the remarkable slow acoustic song "Pretty Penny," the electrifying as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Silvergun Superman," the successful as kickin' slow Grunge Rocker that was in "THE CROW" soundtrack album, "Big Empty," the fast as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Unglued," the energetic as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Army Ants" and the beautifully slow electric acoustic turned as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Kitchenware & Candybars." I would like to thank and commend STONE TEMPLE PILOTS for delivering one hell of a follow-up album to Rock n' Roll. Weiland's merciless lead vocals interacted extremely well with the music and contributed in taking the music to another level. Dean DeLeo's blistering guitar riffs and licks contributed extremely well in complimenting and backing up Weiland's lead vocals thus taking their music to another level unimagined. The band's explosive rhythm section comprising of bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Kretz blended beautifully together and harmonized magnificently as one unit creating one sound of music with both Weiland and Dean DeLeo. I do have to commend drummer Kretz for keeping his timing perfect while laying down the foundation and drumming techniques for every song track contained on this album. Well done guys. I would like to highly recommend in purchasing this legendary explosive follow-up album to everyone of all ages to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. This treasure album has aged extremely well through the years and has already proven to stand the test of time. When California lead vocalist and frontman Eddie Vedder met up and joined forces with lead guitarist Mike McCready, rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament and original drummer Dave Krusen, the line-up was complete and PEARL JAM would be born to help contribute in putting the Grunge Rock invasion on the map that was originally started by NIRVANA. Knowing this, PEARL JAM would strike gold with the success of their debut "TEN" album in 1991. But the original PEARL JAM line-up would not stay together for very long. Vedder's screams and shouts that are accompanying his merciless lead vocals are breathtaking and contribute extremely well in taking the music to the next level. McCready's and Gossard's interaction together with their blistering guitar riffs and licks compliment each other perfectly and contribute in complimenting and backing up Vedder remarkably well resulting in taking the music to the next level unimagined. The band's rhythm section comprising of bassist Ament and new drummer Abbruzzese blended beautifully together resulting in harmonizing together perfectly with the other band members as one unit creating one sound of music. New drummer Abbruzzese kept the timing of his drumming precise while laying down the foundation of his drumming techniques for all of the song tracks contained on this album. Bassist Ament's bass patterns and chords contributed remarkably well in keeping the music together. Well done guys. The band, or should I say lead vocalist, guitarist and frontman James Hetfield, rhythm and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Jason Newsted, were excited about heading back into the recording studio and record the follow-up album I'm about to review for all of you today. When Elektra Records released the "LOAD" album in 1996, the album would indicate and show a more mature and experienced side of the band. And because of this, their music and sound would change and for the better. I have heard all of METALLICA'S albums through the years and it is my opinion that I do not believe in any way that the band sold out. Its called LIFE! Its called maturing and growing up. All bands change as they grow older, no band ever stays the same. In my opinion, the "LOAD" album is without a doubt, another true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. Hetfield's merciless and horrific lead vocals blended perfectly with the music to its fullest potential. Hetfield's guitar riffs and licks interacted incredibly well with Hammett's guitar riffs and licks. Hammett's blistering guitar riffs and licks lit up the music resulting in taking it to another level. The band's powerhouse rhythm section comprising of bassist Newsted and drummer Ulrich blended magnificently together and harmonized extremely well with the other band members resulting in becoming one unit and making one sound. I am writing a review on the legendary 2-CD landmark album entitled "WINGSPAN" by one of Rock's all-time greatest solo-artists ever. I give you one of Britain's proudest pride and joy's and one of Liverpool, England's most favorite sons, S-I-R P-A-U-L M-C-C-A-R-T-N-E-Y! "WINGSPAN" was originally released in 2001 in a 2-CD set on the Capitol Records label in association with MPL Communications Ltd/Inc. I have been asked many times over and over again from many of my friends as to when I am going to write a review on PAUL MCCARTNEY? I must confess that I have never even written one review on PAUL MCCARTNEY despite writing reviews on JOHN LENNON, GEORGE HARRISON and even RINGO STARR. I apologize for not writing one sooner but I do have a reason. Please forgive me for making these statements, I do not mean to offend anyone especially the diehard PAUL MCCARTNEY fans but I do have a concern that does puzzle me. I have lost a little respect for PAUL MCCARTNEY due to the fact that he wanted to change all of the songs that were originally listed and credited as LENNON/MCCARTNEY to MCCARTNEY/LENNON. Look at the songwriting credits on THE BEATLES' "PLEASE PLEASE ME" album. To me, that really shows the egotisical and unsensitive side of PAUL MCCARTNEY towards JOHN LENNON especially since JOHN LENNON is not here to defend himself. PAUL MCCARTNEY is NOT showing any respect for the dead whatsoever. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE PAUL MCCARTNEY and I always will. BUT PLEASE LEAVE HISTORY ALONE PAUL, haven't you already done enough? PAUL MCCARTNEY will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest anthems ever. If that wasn't enough, PAUL MCCARTNEY will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. But most importantly, PAUL MCCARTNEY will forever be remembered in our memory and hearts as just plain PAUL as in JOHN PAUL GEORGE and RINGO. As we all well know by now, PAUL MCCARTNEY was the bass player in the greatest band that music ever produced. Thats right, I'm talking about the four lads that shook the world, THE FAB FOUR, THE BEATLES! But we all already know what THE BEATLES contributed, accomplished and achieved in music history, don't we? PAUL MCCARTNEY has already received the highest honor possible twice by being inducted as a solo artist as well as a member of THE BEATLES into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Knowing this, PAUL MCCARTNEY has forever left his place and mark in Rock n' Roll history and his many numerous contributions, accomplishments and achievements as a band member as well as a solo artist, will never be forgotten. I am writing a review on the legendary 3-CD landmark album entitled "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" by one of Rock's all-time greatest bands ever. I give you one of England's pride and joy's and one of Britain's favorite sons, the mighty L-E-D Z-E-P-P-E-L-I-N! "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" was originally released in 2003 on a three Compact Disc set on the Atlantic Records label. LED ZEPPELIN will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest anthems ever. If that wasn't enough, LED ZEPPELIN will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. As you are all probably aware of by now, LED ZEPPELIN will reunite on 26 November 2007 at the 02 Arena in London, England in memory of the late Atlantic Records co-founder and chairman emeritus Ahmet Ertegun. I must confess that I am extremely excited about it and I am looking forward to reading the reviews about it and possibly buy this historic concert on DVD in the near future. This historic event is without a doubt, bigger than Rock n' Roll itself. The last time LED ZEPPELIN had a reunion was in 1988 for the Atlantic Record's 40th Anniversary special. It'll be great to see Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and the late great John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham together on stage and push the sun back up in the sky one more time for Rock n' Roll. But first things first, LED ZEPPELIN gave us some great live shows through the years especially the concert I'm about to review for all of you today. "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" contains rare unreleased concert performances that were recorded live at the LA Forum on 25 June 1972 and at the Long Beach Arena on 27 June 1972. These rare concert performances capture LED ZEPPELIN at their absolute best. In my opinion, "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" is without a doubt, another true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that is still truly indeed, way far ahead of their time. "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" is the tales and continuing adventures in the life and times of the LED ZEPPELIN saga in 1972. Their music is their story that speaks for itself. The LED ZEPPELIN 3-CD set album "HOW THE WEST WAS WON" from 2003 begins with DISC ONE with the 14 second intro "LA Drone," which evolves into the explosive Hard Rocker "Immigrant Song," the firey Hard Rocker "Heartbreaker," the powerful as kickin' Hard Rocker "Black Dog," the amazing as kickin' Hard Rocker "Over The Hills And Far Away," the slow as kickin' Blues Hard Rocker "Since I've Been Loving You," one of the greatest Rock n' Roll anthems ever recorded, the one and only classic "Stairway To Heaven," the beautifully slow and soothing acoustic song "Going To california," the beautifully slow and smooth sounding acoustic love song "That's The Way" and the legendary acoustic extravaganza "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp." END OF DISC ONE. DISC TWO takes right where DISC ONE left off and begins with one of the greatest live versions of "Dazed And Confused" ever recorded, the next song would be the slow electrifying as kickin' Hard Rocker "What Is And What Should Never Be," the incredible rare live as kickin' Hard Rocker "Dancing Days" and John "Bonzo" Bonham's as kickin' shining moment, the drum solo "Moby Dick." END OF DISC TWO. DISC THREE takes right DISC TWO left off and begins with the forever LED ZEPPELIN stamped trademark Hard Rocker "Whole Lotta Love," the blistering as kickin' Hard Rocker "Rock And Roll," the breathtaking as kickin' Hard Rocker "The Ocean" and the slow Bluesy intro that explodes into the a*s kickin' electric guitar Hard Rocker "Bring It On Home." END OF DISC THREE. I would like to thank and commend LED ZEPPELIN for having someone record these historic live shows and delivering one hell of a live album to Rock n' Roll even if it was released years later. There is not a doubt in my mind that the 1972 LED ZEPPELIN tour may have captured the band at their absolute best and these shows musically prove and explain why. Robert Plant's merciless lead vocals were sizzlin' hot and burning on fire while singing all of the legendary songs contained in this collection. In my opinion, Robert Plant reminds me a lot of a male JANIS JOPLIN. Jimmy Page's blistering guitar riffs and licks literally lit the music up and carried it to a different level. LED ZEPPELIN'S explosive powerhouse rhythm section comprising of bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham blended perfectly together and harmonized magnificently as one unit. Jones' bass patterns and chords complimented Page's guitar riffs and licks perfectly. Bonham's time keeping hit their mark perfectly and laid down the foundation for ZEPPELIN'S explosive Hard Rock sound that they would forever be known for. Again, this is LED ZEPPELIN at their absolute best. Well done guys. I would like to highly recommend in purchasing this legendary 3-CD set for everyone of all ages to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. This 3-CD treasure album has aged well through the years and has already proven to stand the test of time. The surviving members were probably right when they said that it is impossible to continue as LED ZEPPELIN. But the band did find a way to come back together again. The ONLY way that LED ZEPPELIN felt that they could get back together again is with the late great John Bonham's son, the man that will be drumming in his father's honor on the night of 26 November 2007, Jason Bonham. On that very special night, Rock n' Roll will rise once again and give us one of its all-time greatest bands ever. What a night it will be indeed. I am not going to make any promises as to what the future of ZEPPELIN will be following this one-time concert event. Only the band and time will tell what holds in store for this great legendary band. I would love to see LED ZEPPELIN get back together again either with Jason Bonham or Michael Lee and record one more album for us and set the record straight once and for all by touring the world again only to be greeted by millions of fans that miss and love LED ZEPPELIN. "SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH" was originally released in 1974 on Vinyl/LP and Cassette on the Warner Brothers Records label. This legendary album would see its debut on Compact Disc in the late 1980's on the same Warner Brothers Records label. BLACK SABBATH will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest songs ever. If that wasn't enough, BLACK SABBATH will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. Not too bad for a local Birmingham band who started its life as an early Blues band who called themselves EARTH. However, this band would change its name to BLACK SABBATH after the cult Horror movie in the 1960's and began playing horror music at the request of Tony Iommi. It would be at this point that the band would really begin to start shining and rocking. Beginning in 1970, BLACK SABBATH would amaze the Rock n' Roll world with their breathtaking self-titled debut album "BLACK SABBATH," "PARANOID" also from 1970, "MASTER OF REALITY" from 1971 and "VOLUME 4" from 1972. However, by 1973, and despite the fact that the drugs were really starting to take an enormous effect and toll on the band comprising of John "Ozzy" Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Terry "Geezer" Butler and Bill Ward, BLACK SABBATH still managed to get it together by recording and delivering the album I'm about to review for all of you today. When Warner Brothers Records released the "SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH" album in 1974, like the "VOLUME 4" album in 1972, it would also show a mellower but still Rockin' side of the band. "SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH" chronicles and highlights some of the band's greatest moments in what many music critics consider to be the beginning of the final moments of the band's original line-up. In my opinion, "SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH" is without a doubt, another true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. I would like to thank and commend BLACK SABBATH for delivering another hell of an album to Rock n' Roll. Ozzy's merciless lead vocals contribute perfectly in lighting up the music that the band would forever be known for. Iommi's blistering and traditional guitar riffs and licks are the real true Rock n' Roll stuff that is made of Rock legend. The band's powerhouse rhythm section comprising of bassist Butler and drummer Ward kept the timing perfect resulting in blending and harmonizing together magnificently with Ozzy and Iommi. Ozzy would depart from SABBATH in 1979 and embark on a very successful solo career. However, fate would bring them back together again for Live Aid in 1985 and their historic reunion tour in 1997. Following Ozzy's departure from BLACK SABBATH in 1979, the band would also carry on and enjoy success with new frontmen such as Ronnie James Dio and former DEEP PURPLE frontman Ian Gillan. But it would be the original line-up that the world would sorely miss and would have to wait several years before an actual SABBATH reunion would take place. However, Ozzy's failing health would affect his performance and future reunions with the band resulting in Ozzy giving his blessing to Ronnie James Dio in carrying on the SABBATH tradition. However, Ozzy has proven himself in being a true Rock n' Roll warrior and will continue to be to the very end. In my opinion, I have always said that Ronnie James Dio is the only lead singer alive that is capable of carrying on and keeping the BLACK SABBATH legacy alive. But out of respect for Ozzy, the band has agreed in changing their name from BLACK SABBATH to HEAVEN AND HELL. HEAVEN AND HELL comprising of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Terry "Geezer" Butler and Vinny Appice has given Rock n' Roll something to really cheer about recently with the 2007 release of the DVD "HEAVEN AND HELL LIVE AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL." THIS CONCERT KICKS A*S! Knowing all of this, I get the feeling that BLACK SABBATH and HEAVEN AND HELL are here to stay and are not going anywhere anytime soon. I am writing a review on the legendary self-titled album entitled "METALLICA" by one of Rock's all-time greatest bands ever. I give you one of America's pride and joy's and favorite sons, M-E-T-A-L-L-I-C-A! "METALLICA" or "THE BLACK ALBUM" was originally released in 1991 on Compact Disc on the Elektra Entertainment Records label which is a division of Warner Communications Inc. METALLICA will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest songs ever. If that wasn't enough, METALLICA will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. In the late 1980's, Hard Rock music was really getting recognition as a unique art sound of its own that would become a force to be reckoned with resulting in gaining its own worldwide identity. Bands such as MOTLEY CRUE, GUNS N' ROSES, JUDAS PRIEST, AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE and LED ZEPPELIN to name a few, were bands that were leaving a strong impact in the Rock n' Roll world with their Hard Rock sound. The album I'm about to review for all of you today is from a band that would earn the right to be added to the above list and join the ranks of Rock's elite Hard Rock bands. When lead vocalist, guitarist and frontman James Hetfield met up and joined forces with lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, the late bassist Cliff Burton and powerhouse drummer Lars Ulrich, the line-up would be complete and METALLICA would be born to kick as. But this original line-up would not last long. METALLICA would be faced with an early career fatality that would prove to cost dearly and could have very well ended the band forever. Original bassist Cliff Burton would pass away in September 1986 as a result of a fatal bus accident, he was 24 years old. Rather than break up and waste the talent that this band was truly capable of delivering, the surviving members of METALLICA would hire the services of bassist Jason Newsted as the newest permanent member of METALLICA. It was full speed ahead for METALLICA and the band would only get better with time. It is now 1991 and the band would be excited about heading back into the recording studio and record the tracks for the self-titled "METALLICA" "BLACK ALBUM." Once the album was completed, Elektra Records would release the album as the self-titled "METALLICA" album. The "METALLICA BLACK ALBUM" would go on and prove to be one of the band's all-time greatest albums ever. In my opinion, the "METALLICA" album is without a doubt, a true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. "METALLICA" is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that is still truly far ahead of their time. Hetfield's horrific lead vocals and guitar riffs contributes in giving the band the Hard Rockin' sound and personality of its own. Hammett's merciless guitar riffs and licks blend and compliment Hetfield perfectly. The band's powerhouse rhythm section comprising of bassist Newsted and drummer Ulrich keep the timing of the music on the mark resulting in interacting and harmonizing together magnificently with Hetfield and Hammett as one unit. Ulrich's blistering drumming techniques really contributes in giving their Hard Rock sound an additional spark of life resulting in taking the music to another level. Well done guys. I would like to highly recommend in purchasing this legendary album for everyone of all ages to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. I am writing a review on the legendary landmark album entitled "MASTER OF REALITY" by one of Rock's all-time greatest bands ever. I give you one of Britain's pride and joy's and one of Birmingham, England's favorite sons, B-L-A-C-K S-A-B-B-A-T-H! "MASTER OF REALITY" was originally released in 1971 on Vinyl/LP and 8-Track on the Warner Brothers Records label. This legendary album would see its debut on Cassette in the mid 1970's and on Compact Disc in the late 1980's. BLACK SABBATH will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest anthems ever. If that wasn't enough, BLACK SABBATH will also forever be remembered for delivering some of Rock's all-time greatest live performances ever. When lead singer and frontman John "Ozzy" Osbourne met up and joined forces with his childhood friends comprising of lead and rhythm guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Terry "Geezer" Butler and powerhouse drummer Bill Ward, EARTH would be born but the stage was not yet set. As fate would have it, there was another local band in Birmingham who called themselves EARTH that was causing a confusion in the music scene especially since both bands played different styles of music. According to Ozzy, it was Iommi's idea to play horror music and change the name to BLACK SABBATH after the 1960's cult horror film. And so it happened and the stage was now finally set for this legendary band to scare the living hell out of Rock n' Rollers who dared to listen to them. SABBATH'S self-titled debut album from 1970 gave a whole new definition to the word horror music. SABBATH'S follow-up 1970 album "PARANOID" would set the whole Rock n' Roll world on fire and deliver some of Rock's all-time greatest classic anthems ever. But SABBATH was still not about to rest on their laurels just yet. It is now 1971 and BLACK SABBATH would hand in to Warner Brothers Records their greatest album yet. Warner Brothers would help BLACK SABBATH by delivering and releasing the "MASTER OF REALITY" album for the whole world to listen to. In my opinion, "MASTER OF REALITY" is without a doubt, another true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented musicians. "MASTER OF REALITY" is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that is still far ahead of their time. "MASTER OF REALITY" is the gothic tale and story in the life and times of the BLACK SABBATH saga. Their music is their story that speaks for itself. BLACK SABBATH'S "MASTER OF REALITY" album from 1971 begins with the incredible as kickin' Hard Rocker about Marijuana, "Sweet Leaf," the blistering as kickin' Hard Rocker "After Forever," the thirty second guitar intro "Embryo," the electrifying as kickin' Hard Rocker "Children Of The Grave," Iommi's shining moment with his beautiful acoustic guitar solo "Orchid," the amazing horrific and as kickin' Hard Rocker "Lord Of This World," the beautifully slow and soothing mellow Rocker "Solitude" and the breathtaking as kickin' Hard Rocker "Into The Void." I would like to thank and commend BLACK SABBATH for delivering one hell of an as kickin' album to Rock n' Roll. Ozzy's merciless lead vocals put the fear into horror music loud and clear. Iommi's blistering and horrific guitar riffs and licks are the real Rock n' Roll stuff that is purely made of Rock legend. Butler's incredible bass chords and patterns light up the music and take it to a completely different level. Ward's timing is perfect and he pounds away on his drums like there is no tomorrow. All four musicians rose for the occasion during the recording of this album and they blended and harmonized beautifully together resulting in getting the sound they were all after. Well done guys. But it would be the original BLACK SABBATH comprising of Osbourne, Iommi, Butler and Ward that would sorely be missed but destiny would bring them back together again briefly in 1985 for Live Aid and their historic reunion in 1997. All four members have long since made peace with each other and have enjoyed enormous success. However, Ozzy's failing health has put a damper on future SABBATH reunions resulting in Ozzy giving Ronnie James Dio his blessing in continuing the BLACK SABBATH legacy. Out of respect for Ozzy, the band has agreed in changing the name from BLACK SABBATH to HEAVEN AND HELL. THAT'S WHAT I CALL TRUE FRIENDSHIP AND LOYALTY! BLACK SABBATH LIVES! BLACK SABBATH has already received the highest honor possible by being inducted as members of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. In 1991, the Seattle Grunge Rock Invasion would take hold of the Rock n' Roll world by storm beginning with NIRVANA. NIRVANA'S Grunge Rock sound formula would influence many great bands outside of Seattle such as STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and THE SMASHING PUMPKINS to name a few. However, in Seattle, NIRVANA had some stiff competition that would challenge NIRVANA for the crown of the prestigious title "The King of Grunge Rock!" One band was SOUNDGARDEN, the other band is the one that I'm going to review for all of you today. PEARL JAM will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest anthems ever. PEARL JAM will also forever be remembered for giving birth to one of the greatest frontmen Rock ever produced. PEARL JAM would rise from the ashes of the band "MOTHER LOVE BONE" to become the most popular and successful American Rock n' Roll band in the 1990's. Following the death of "MOTHER LOVE BONE'S" original lead vocalist, lead guitarist Mike McCready and rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard would form a new band comprising of bassist Jeff Ament, drummer Dave Krusen and a California surfer that had high vocal ranges and horrific screams that would shake the world to its very foundations, lead vocalist and frontman Eddie Vedder. Once the new line-up was complete, the stage was set and the new band would be born with a new name called PEARL JAM. Their legendary debut album "TEN" is the true Rock n' Roll stuff that is made of pure Rock legend. If there was ever a band that told the horific dark side of Grunge Rock and serious youth matters in the 1990's, PEARL JAM would take the honors hands down with their legendary debut "TEN" album. In my opinion, the "TEN" album is without a doubt, a true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of five extremely talented musicians. "TEN" is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that was truly indeed, far ahead of their time. "TEN" is the beginning tales in the life and times of PEARL JAM. The band's rhythm section comprising of bassist Ament and drummer Krusen complimented each others musical abilities superbly. Today marks the sixth anniversary of what happened on that fateful day of 11 September 2001. My heart goes out to the families that lost their loved ones that risked their lives in saving others. God Bless. J.L. I am writing a review on the newest legendary album entitled "NEVERMIND" by one of America's pride and joy's and one of Seattle, Washington's favorite sons. I give you N-I-R-V-A-N-A! "NEVERMIND" was originally released in 1991 on Compact Disc on the David Geffen Company Records (DGC) label in association with Uni Distribution Corporation and SUB POP. This album was re-released in 1996 on a 24 Kt. Gold Compact Disc by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in the ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING / ULTRADISC series. In my opinion, the ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING / ULTRADISC series is by far, the best sound quality available in the music industry today. You can definitely tell the difference in sound quality between the regular 1991 release and the 1996 Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab release. On the Mobile Fidelity release, you will be able to turn the volume knob more to your right and notice no total harmonic distortion while it is getting louder. The sound will also sound more crisp clear and you will be able to notice the treble highs at an incredible high volume rate. On a regular CD, you can raise the volume up to about 6 to 8 dB (Decibals) whereas on a Mobile Fidelity Compact Disc, you can raise the volume from 8 to 9 dB up to 15 dB easily with no distortion of any kind depending on the kind of home stereo system you have. Whatever stereo system you have, I guarantee you that the Mobile Fidelity Compact Discs will bring out the best in your stereo system. NIRVANA will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest songs ever. NIRVANA will also forever be remembered for beginning the Seattle Grunge Rock invasion in the 1990's. NIRVANA'S trademark sound would comprise of a mixture of Hard Rock music and Punk Rock music. When NIRVANA originally formed in the 1980's, the group was originally a four-man band comprising of the late great lead vocalist, frontman and guitarist Kurdt Kobain, bassist Chris Novoselic, drummer Chad Channing and guitarist Jason Everman. This line-up would record and release the "BLEACH" album in 1989. However, this line-up would not last for very long and NIRVANA would temporary disband and revamp their band as a three-man trio now comprising of lead vocalist, frontman and lead and rhythm guitarist Kurt (Not Kurdt) Cobain (Not Kobain), bassist Chris Novoselic and drummer David Grohl. This line-up would be the band's legendary trademark that would set the Grunge Rock invasion on fire in the 1990's. This legendary three-man line-up would record and release the album I'm about to review for all of you today. When "NEVERMIND" was released in 1991, Rock n' Roll was about to get a whole different new sound with Grunge Rock and NIRVANA would join legendary bands such as JIMI HENDRIX and HEART as putting Seattle, Washington on the Rock n' Roll map once more. It was full speed ahead for NIRVANA and this band would lead the way with the Seattle Grunge Rock invasion in which many other legendary bands such as PEARL JAM and SOUNDGARDEN to name a few, would soon yet to follow. In my opinion, "NEVERMIND" is without a doubt, a true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of three extremely talented musicians. "NEVERMIND" is also a fitting tribute to a great legendary band that was truly indeed, far ahead of their time. "NEVERMIND" is the tragic tales in the life and times of NIRVANA, their music is their story that speaks for itself. "NEVERMIND" from 1991 begins with the forever blistering NIRVANA trademark as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Smells Like Teen Spirit," the tough and rugged as kickin' Grunge Rocker "In Bloom," the breathtaking as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Come As You Are," the fast and firey as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Breed," the merciless slow turned fast as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Lithium," the slow acoustic and bass pumping Grunge song "Polly," the speedy and energetic as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Territorial Pissings," the incredible as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Drain You," the bass pumping intro turned fast as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Lounge Act," the fast bass intro turned into the speedy as kickin' Grunge Rocker "Stay Away," the amazing as kickin' Grunge Rocker "On A Plain" and the slow and haunting acoustic song "Something In The Way." I would like to thank and commend NIRVANA for delivering an excellent album to Rock n' Roll. Cobain's breathtaking and freightening lead vocals help lift the incredible Grunge Rock music to a different level. Cobain's blistering guitar riffs and licks are somewhat similar to that of Tony Iommi of BLACK SABBATH. Bassist Novoselic's bass chords are fantastic and it compliments Cobain's performance perfectly. Drummer Grohl's timing hits its mark perfectly and pounds on the drums with no mercy. If you like Grunge Rock music and are also into the sounds of PEARL JAM and SOUNDGARDEN, you will definitely love this album. I highly recommend this legendary album for everyone of all ages to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. This treasure album has aged well and has already proven to stand the test of time. This priceless gem will always be around to be enjoyed, appreciated and cherished for many years to come, NOW AND FOREVER! As a curious beginner and newcomer to the sounds of NIRVANA, you may also want to research further and check out the other NIRVANA studio, live and greatest hits compilation albums that are widely available. In doing this, you will have purchased the album(s) that is right for you and suits your musical tastes and interests. In closing, NIRVANA'S career together would be short lived due to the untimely death of Kurt Cobain in April 1994. It is just too bad that NIRVANA'S career had to be cut so short, no telling how much more that this band was truly capable of giving. Former NIRVANA drummer David Grohl would move on to a very successful solo career by forming the band THE FOO FIGHTERS as the band's co-founder, lead vocalist, frontman and lead and rhythm guitarist. THE FOO FIGHTERS has some similarities to NIRVANA in many ways such as being a three-man trio band to name a few. NIRVANA has forever left their place and mark in Rock n' Roll history and their contributions, accomplishments and achievements as band members as well as solo artists, will never be forgotten or denied. "WEST SIDE STORY" is the romantic Romeo & Juliet love story of a guy and a girl that are separated and torn apart by their rival gangs. WOOD and BEYMER star as the star-crossed lovers from different neighborhoods and ethnicities. WOOD stars as the sister of the rival sharks gang leader and BEYMER stars as the rival jets gang member that WOOD falls for. As for the acting, MGM/UA couldn't have chosen three more talented actors to portray the roles than NATALIE WOOD, RICHARD BEYMER and RITA MORENO. In my opinion, WOOD was perfect for the role. Her acting performance was taken to a different level that not even she could have ever imagined. BEYMER's performance supported and complimented WOOD perfectly. Lets not forget RITA MORENO'S performance. Her dancing was magnificent. MORENO complimented and backed up both WOOD and BEYMER in more ways than one. I have read that all three stars' voices were dubbed and were not their actual real singing voices. Despite that, their singing performances could have fooled me. I am writing a review on the legendary landmark film entitled "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" starring three of Hollywood's all-time greatest movie icons ever. I give you the late great JAMES DEAN, the late great and always beautiful NATALIE WOOD and the late great SAL MINEO. "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" was originally released in 1955 by Warner Brothers. Juvenile Delinquency was not shown very much in movie form on the screen until a movie entitled "THE WILD ONE" starring the late great MARLON BRANDO was released in 1954. In my opinion, "THE WILD ONE" would set the stage for the legendary movie that I'm about to review for all of you today. When "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" was released in 1955, it would be JAMES DEAN that would take most of the credit for the hoodlum look in the 1950's such as sporting a leather jacket, blue jeans and a switchblade. Believe it or not, if you remember HAPPY DAYS from the 1970's, the time setting was in the 1950's and the hoodlum character Authur Fonzarelli (Fonzie or The Fonz) had a poster of JAMES DEAN on the inside door of his closet. The Fonz idolized DEAN which would symbolize many bikers and hoodlums idolizing and looking up to DEAN. In many ways, "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" is considered one of the many few breakthrough movies that deals and tells the story about troubled and confused youths in America crying out for their identities and desperately wanting for their parents to hear what they have to say. "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" would also open many new doors for the many other youth movies dealing with youth subject matters that were yet to come in the late 1950's and into the 1960's. In reality, "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" is an extremely powerful film that was far ahead of its time. In my opinion, as for the acting in "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE," Hollywood or Warner Brothers couldn't have found three finer or better actors to play the parts in this legendary film than JAMES DEAN, NATALIE WOOD and SAL MINEO. All three of these legendary movie icons lit up the screen with their strong, emotional and powerful performances. JAMES DEAN'S acting ability was so convincing mostly because he related to the character he was playing and he knew how to express his feelings on camera. In reality, DEAN was truly expressing his feelings for real on the screen and was not acting. What can I possibly say about the always beautiful NATALIE WOOD that hasn't already been said. WOOD would begin her career as a child star at such an early age that by the time she filmed "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE," she was now ready to enter a new phase of her life and career by growing out of the child star image and blossom into one of Hollywood's most beautiful leading ladies and sex symbol's ever. WOOD would deliver a powerful performance as DEAN'S girl interest who also craved to be accepted by the youths or peers in her school and older society such as her parents in the 1950's. The newcomer actor that would also take top billing along side DEAN and WOOD would be SAL MINEO. SAL MINEO'S acting performance was outstanding and complimented both DEAN and WOOD perfectly. SAL MINEO'S character did not have a family in the movie at all so he pretended that both DEAN'S and WOOD'S characters were his parents and he felt that he could build a happy home with them. This situation would force both DEAN'S and WOOD'S characters to grow up and take a good look at themselves. And because none of their parents or the older society would listen to them, the youths would rebel against them, and that is what would make "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" into the legendary movie it was destined to become. In closing, I highly recommend this legendary movie for everyone of all ages. Its a real trip watching what it was really like growing up and going to high school in the 1950's. "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE" would be chosen as one of the Top 100 all-time greatest films ever by the American Film Institute. The sad part of watching this legendary film years later is that JAMES DEAN, NATALIE WOOD and SAL MINEO all died mysterious and controversial deaths while still in their prime. DEAN died in a violent car crash in 1955, WOOD drowned in 1981 and MINEO would be stabbed to death in 1976. What a tragic loss for Hollywood and the entire world. As you're all probably aware, I have been writing many reviews on my most favorite actress of all-time, the late great NATALIE WOOD. After I am done with this review, I will do three more reviews on NATALIE WOOD entitled "REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE," "BOB & CAROL & TED & ALICE" and her last film ever, "BRAINSTORM."
