| If you are using this outside you might want a Rode DeadCat, but this is an essential product to me for my Canon VIXIA HV30 MiniDV High Definition Camcorder with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom. It fits perfectly on top! It does require one Duracell Batteries in Reclosable Storage Pack, Size 9 Volt (Pack of 4), but as Duracell are the best around you might want to buy the pack I linked. | ||
| Tonio K. - Olé | ||
![]() | "Followup to Notes of the Lost Civilization has a different tone." | 2009-02-26 |
| In this album, originally recorded in 1989, but unreleased until much later, Tonio K. seems more mellow. That is not to say I dislike this album. I like it a lot. Stylistically, it is not like Romeo Unchained, nor is it like Notes from the Lost Civilization although there are points where it sounds closer to Notes than to his earlier punk stuff or to the 80's synthesizers of Romeo. His words are always as important as his music. As an artist I link him with T-Bone Burnett (producer of this album) or Mark Heard (one of the recording engineers on this album). There are 12 songs: 1. Stop the Clock is maybe the weakest song. Not to say that it is bad, but perhaps it is easily forgotten. 2. Time Steps Aside is an upbeat song about a woman living in the past. 3. Maybe There Isn't is a ballad style song. 4. Stuck stands out on this album. Looking at where our grandparents, parents, and now where we are, it is an upbeat take on how it may not be how we would like it, but it is up to us work through it. 5. That Could Have Been Me reminds of the saying "There but for the grace of God go I." 6. Hey Lady is memorable with a simple arrangement and his vocal. I don't think it is for everyone. Hey Lady might be considered a depressing song by some, good social commentary by others. 7. Come With Me is a beautiful song. I enjoy the imagery and the lyrics. The music fits nicely. 8. I'll Remember You is clearly meant to be the hit song. It is memorable, looking back to teenage love. 9. What a Way to Live is reminiscent of his punk years. I like it. 10. Day and Night and Pardon Me are written to the same or very similar music. Both are still quite different from each other for all of that. 11. Pardon Me for Living. See above. 12. We Walk On is a song with good imagery and is a fitting closer to this album. | ||
| Cavalry CAXM37500 3.5-Inch 500GB SATA External Hard Drive | ||
![]() | "Not great for MacOs leopard" | 2009-02-14 |
| I bought this for making backups to Mac, and also for video and song storage. First, the cd that is listed as coming with the drive was not there although the other parts were. (Other parts are the plug, adapter, usb cable, ESATA cable, eSATA bracket.) The product says it will work with Windows and MacOS 9.x or up. Warning: Not without quite a bit of work. With the newest Mac OS and latest updates (10.5.6), this drive is NOT readable with Mac. I went to http://www.cavalrystorage.com for help. There was no manual with the drive, but if you dig around through Support on the website there are some instructions, so I called tech support. I figured I needed the missing cd driver and I needed to know what to do to make it run on a Mac so I had enough reason to call. Some guy answered the phone and said she (the lady who does tech support? he didn't say her name) was out but she would call me back when she got back from lunch. That never happened. I finally found on the website the part about how to make the drive work on Mac. Here is how: Open your Macintosh HD, look in Applications, Utilities, then Disk utility. Click on 465.8 GB Generic External... (not the NEWVOLUME that is under it), click on partition, there will be a Current box showing. Change that to 1 partition. Name the device whatever you want or leave it as Untitled 1, choose Mac OS Extended (journaled), and then click apply. When that finishes your drive will work with Mac but may not work with Windows any longer. I told you it wasn't easy. Anyhow, I gave this 3 of 5 because I did get it working, and it is a nice drive. But I didn't appreciate the false advertising on it being compatible for later versions of Mac. I also didn't appreciate being told someone from tech support would call back and they didn't. | ||

![]() | "My boys play this" | 2008-12-06 |
| My boys love this game and play it often. They are 6 and 9 years old and think it is one of the best games that they have. The game has good graphics, and has two player capability, challenges and races. Each player has three characters on his team that he can use for their abilities. They have very little difficulty playing it. I would say it is suitable for five years and up. | ||

| I bought this game for my kids. I remembered Starsky and Hutch from television when I was a kid. This follows them in their Ford Gran Torino through 3 seasons. (Other cars become available.) Each mission is basically about destroying the bad guys car, not shooting or smashing the good guys car, and collecting badges and tokens to move to the next season. Game play is smooth, graphics are cartoon-like. My kids enjoy the challenge of beating the game, but they tire of collecting badges and tokens although with a few runs they can figure out where they are and compete. Once they beat the game I am not sure they will want to keep playing, but it has held its value for a month now. When they have friends over that is one of the first discs they pull out just for the sheer fun of driving and shooting. It can be a challenge to win. | ||
| Borderline Personality Disorder Demystified: An Essential Guide to Understanding and Living With Bpd (Demystified Series) | ||
![]() | "Detailed study" | 2008-07-12 |
| I bought this book to gain an understanding of borderline personality disorder (BPD). I think the book contains a lot of information. I ordered this book along with Sometimes I Act Crazy: Living with Borderline Personality Disorder. For the average reader, I think the other book is slightly better, but they contain a lot of similar information. This book is good, don't think I am giving it a bad review. It gives a good background on the history of the disorder, and it helps give some ideas. The section on pharmacology might be helpful for some, too. | ||

| I bought this book out of curiosity. After reading the book, I feel I have a good although not complete understanding of BPD. If you are a friend of, or a sibling/parent of someone with BPD, or if you have BPD, then this book is good for the tips contained at the end of the chapters. | ||

| If you like country music, or if you want to explore T-Bone Burnett's music, either way, it is very well written and recorded. | ||
