![]() | "Excellent product, amazing service!" | 2009-06-16 |
| OK, so at this mid-level of earphone (between the $100 and $300 levels) many of the brands will sound pretty similar unless you are a machine or uber-geek (I touch on the latter). So there are two things you should know about these ETYs that stand out. 1. The most comfortable for large ear canals using the foam pieces (and superior sound isolation. 2. Absolutely amazing customer support. My experience: After having these phones for 5 years, the post on one just broke off with little pressure at all. I was quite disappointed and thought I would have to shop for a different brand. I did purchase from Amazon and the receipt was in archives so I called Ety directly and was first stunned when a real human answered the phone. Then after I explained the problem they said, "send it in." No need for receipt or anything. I expected a bill when it returned but they replaced both posts and transducers for free! I was flabbergasted! The thought of switching brands is gone. The only complaint I had was that the 5 year old foam tips, which have rigid plastic cores, were more difficult to slide on (maybe the new posts were beefier?...I then dilated them with a lobster pick and they barely make it). I called again and they said they would send a few new foam tips right out. Did I say flabbergasted? | ||

![]() | "Better than other cheap phones!" | 2009-05-09 |
| They are better than other cheap phones in their class. Better high and mid reproduction than V-moda Bass and scads better than any crap units that come with your mp3 player or ipod. However, phones with big foam or triple flange will fit big ear canals better. Naturally, there is no comparison to Etymotic, Ultimate Ears, or others in that class. You get what you pay for and it is not a bad product at that. | ||

![]() | "Horrible Battery Life!!" | 2008-06-05 |
| OK so it was great at first. I did the initiation routine I was told to do by agent (charge, discharge, charge, discharge) and it seemed to have a decent talk time of 3 hours. Within a few weeks I was down to one hour after a fresh charge. So I got a new OEM battery from the store. Same story! Then I got an OEM extended battery and I am trying it out now. Just ok for an extended battery so far, like 3 hours, but when I am supposed to get 3+ hours on the included battery I am very wary. We will see how long this lasts. The mp3 bluetooth is decent, BTW (yes I include this as talk time). But because of the crap battery life I suggest you get an adapter (here on Amazon) for a headphone-to-miniUSB. UPDATE: APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM IS WITH USING BLUETOOTH. ODD BUT IF I DO NOT SHUTDOWN THE PHONE/RESTART AFTER USING (AND SHUTTING OFF) BLUETOOTH, THE BATTERY RUNS DOWN. GO FIGURE! | ||

![]() | "Quality control issues?" | 2007-04-12 |
| I saw this set at the store and it was a magnificent picture. Has an integrated HDTV tuner and all the connections you will need. Looks sweet, too. However, I got one off Amazon which was a dud. Poor picture quality and white light bleed from the top and bottom of the screen (a problem another customer complained about). Samsung telephone service help was great and agreed it was defective. Amazon was terrific and paid for the return and refund. Be careful with this set and wait a little for other feedback. Oh, one annoying feature. While the HDTV tuner works well, you cannot dial in a specific digital channel (like 10.1) unless the search program has previously found it. And there is no way to "save" the found digital channels so that you can reposition the antennae, search for signals again, and then have a compiled list channels locked into the memory. In other words, if your search found 10.1 in one antenna position but not 6.1, there is no way the TV will let you dial in 6.1 even if you reposition the antenna optimally. You must then reprogram the search to find 6.1, but then after that is completed you wont be able to dial in 10.1 after turning antenna back because the TV did not permanently store that channel prior to the new search. My 32" Sony 960XBR can do this no problem! | ||

![]() | "Bogus claims!" | 2006-10-13 |
| This and other bug zappers are totally bogus for outdoor use. I learned the hard way and ate my cost after buying one of these. Indoors they will attract most flies/moths, but outdoors you basically want them to kill mosquitoes and they absolutely do NOT attract or kill mosquitoes, only other bugs, including some beneficial ones that EAT mosquitoes. This technology has been proven ineffective for years. | ||

| This is an often brilliant parody on the musical/soundtrack. I get a blast out of Magnetic Fields version of Rich Man. Come on, a solo ukulele (banjo?) and voice wonder! There are several golden hits worth the price. There are some flops, too, but that is expected, especially in a various artists album. Definitely, go for it. Or at least download the Rich Man song for free. | ||

| This film sticks to you like a tongue to a winter lamp post. The actors are incredibly real and the landscape startlingly brilliant. Definitely worth having in a film library. | ||

| I can't help but laugh out loud at the humorous misspeak of our leader, but then again...oh my God...he IS our leader! Why do we ignore his past alcohol abuse, driving while intoxicated record (documented in Maine) and likely cocaine use cover up? Yet I fear that his lingual brain center wasn't the only part affected! | ||

![]() | "Don't you get it? It's QUALITY not QUANTITY!!!" | 2004-10-30 |
| While I have seen the excellent 'Going Upriver' which interviews the same veterens, I have not seen this film yet (I apologize). But I had to voice my opinion here: Come on, get real! How can you even begin to compare the testimony of the soldiers who actually, and heroically, served alongside Mr. Kerry to the opinions of others who did not? Especially when the opposition is led by John O'Neil, a Nixon crony-vet created to fight the 60's anti-war movement! Numbers are meaningless (in reference to one vacant reviewer here). | ||

![]() | "Sure there is bias, but the facts are pretty clear!" | 2004-10-15 |
| This is a very fine work of art in the field of documentaries. Almost all documentaries will have bias, some moore (sic) that others. Most intelligent people would see the humor, dark though it may be, in Mr. Moore's film. And, most importantly, anyone with half a brain would admit to the facts presented in this film. What leader of the world could possible sit reading children's books to a classroom for a photo-opportunity after being told that our nation is under attack. Is this the decisive president we want? (BTW: I am an undecided voter:-) | ||
