	Slumdog Millionaire [Blu-ray]

What a huge disappointment! I cannot believe this won best picture. Really, there are just no words for how bad this movie is. If you want to see children beaten and thrown around and even mutilated for two hours, with no one to help the children and no justice whatsoever, then watch this movie. Seeing how perverse this culture is really made me wonder why there is no progress socially in India. They had Gandhi for crying out loud! I hate to put this image in your mind, but really, if you are considering seeing this movie you should know how bad the violence is--I didn't know and the images are haunting me. You will see many people murdered, including by being set on fire. You will see a young boy, who is a character in the film whom you have bonded with, get grabbed and put to sleep with anest. on a rag, and then two men lift his eye lids and pour acid in his eyes, while one of the main characters, another young boy, watches. This was horrifying, and I was very angry to have seen it. By far, the overall most disturbing thing about this film is that there is soooooo sooooo much horrible violence, child abuse, etc., and no justice whatsoever. For instance, I always tell my kids something I learned from Mr. Rogers--when you see bad things happening, like a car accident, or a fire, you will always see helpers. There are always the helpers. In the movie--NO HELPERS!!!! This is the worst-feeling movie EVER!!! As a sharp contrast, I just saw the movie "The Day My God Died." It is also about horrible things happening in Bombay--namely, sexual slavery. However, as sad as it was, it was very informative and showed many wonderfully people who are working hard to help these girls. And it also showed girls being saved, and then able to help others. It showed, however, the devastating effects of sexual abuse, and unlike Slumdog, didn't brush any consequences under the rug. I would highly recommend seeing that movie instead.

I saw this on PBS a few nights ago and it blew my mind! To be honest, I have never heard of him before, and the thought of watching a trumpet concert would not usually spark my interest--but this was AMAZING!!! The variety of vocal guests added such an incredibly dynamic to his performance. I loved all of it, but especially "I got you under my skin." My twelve year old son is starting junior high this coming fall, and met the band director at his new school last night. He is trying to decide between the tuba, trombone, and trumpet! I can't wait for him to see this!

This book is excellent--I couldn't put it down. I felt such gratitude for the author throughout the entire process of reading it. She shares great insights and practical exercises. This book is wonderful for people not only looking for a relationship, but people already in one. It helps a person define what is important to them and changes that may need to be made on the path to spiritual fulfillment. It is not particularly religious, but does give an excellent description of Buddhism in the beginning of the book. It is very spiritual. We are spiritual beings, shouldn't our relationships feed our spirits and encourage growth on a spiritual path? I highly recommend this book!

Just set this up. CEVA Delivery was wonderful. I worried about having a high priced item like this delivered, but it is very well packaged and arrived perfect! We just threw in the movie "Cars"--not even in high def and we are blown away!!! What an incredible picture. I read other reviews about glare, but this is right next to an open window on a sunny day and there is NO glare! The colors are fantastic. I am so, so glad my husband talked me into the extra 400 bucks to get the 650 series. SO worth it for the 120hz, and the red touch of color is beautiful. I couldn't be happier!!!! What a bargain, too. Free shipping, no tax, and priced 700 less than B--- B--.

Don't read this unless you don't mind knowing the trajedy that happens in this movie.... I just watched this with my family--husband and three boys ages 10, 7, and 5. I absolutely loved it. It is full of beautiful life lessons. It shows in a profound way the power of imagination, and that magical thinking in children is very healthy and helps them make sense of their world and work through issues and difficulties. I was touched by so many things. One was when we saw the face of the giant. I think that was profound. For parents reading this and wondering if it would be too sad for their children, I think they should know what happens. My oldest son had been told at school that the girl dies. I told my kids it would be sad, and that the girl dies and that it is just a movie telling a story. I think this helped VERY much. If we had been surprised by the death, which was shocking even though I knew it was eventually going to happen, it would have been very upseting. My boys were fine and enjoyed the movie. I am grateful for the beautiful lessons they saw illustrated. Yes, it is sad. But so is life. And for so, so many children life is full of trajedy. In some cities in this country eighty percent of adolescents have experienced severe violence or family trajedy. We need to get real. This movie isn't to traumatize--it's to help show how the human spirit can overcome trajedy. ALSO, it is important to know that this movie is not at all violent. The make believe scenes are very mild, and even fun. The shadows or creatures represent things that are scarey for the children in their lives, and they conquer them! Also, the commercials for this movie misrepresented its genre, I think. This is not a movie FILLED with the fast action make believe. That is a very small part of the movie. This is a thinking movie about human relationships and emotion. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen!!!

All I can say is wow! This arrived so fast and in perfect condition. I will warn you, though, to fit the foam in a smallish box the foam pad was covered in plastic and tightly taped...and taped...and taped! Be prepared with a lot of patience and a pair of sizzors to get the thing out. Fits perfect on my son's twin bed. I layed on it and cannot believe how wonderful it feels! Like floating on air. I felt my whole body relax. It was incredible. The foam feels different than any I have felt before. Much better than memory foam, which is way too hard and I don't like the way it pushes down and stays that way. This is much more springy, but still dense. Very soft, yet supportive. I am excited to find such an incredible buy! For the quality, any where else I've looked similar items were at least double the price. Hope this helps!
	Love Comes Softly

I saw this movie a month ago on the Hallmark channel. I loved it so much, I bought several copies to give as gifts. I saw it available cheaper here, so I ordered the entire series for myself. To watch the movie a second time, I opened the DVD I bought here at Amazon. I watched it with my husband, mother-n-law, and three young children. The movie is so wonderful, full of beautiful life lessons, no swearing or violence. What strikes me the most is how respectfully people treat each other in the movie. Something you don't see often in movies or tv shows these days! I also loved how they portray religion--or God--not shoving it down your throat, but showing the characters' love of God in a respectful and profound way. HERE IS THE PROBLEM!! So last night, we finish watching the movie, the credits role, and then the menu pops up. I was happy to see a bonus feature. Basking in the calmness and innocence of just watching this movie, and sitting with my family, including my three young children, I click on this bonus feature, thinking we will get to see an interview with Michael Landon, Jr. or something. Within seconds we were bombarded with the most horrific, evil (mother-n-law said it seemed satanic) images of contorted bodies hanging from nooses, etc. In shock I fumbled with the remote to turn it off, but not before my children had seen horrific images. It appears that the bonus feature is a movie trailer for a satanic horror flick. I am very, very angry that this is on this DVD. This is supposed to be a family movie!!! I would bet that Landon would be horrified to know this has been put with his movie. I was not informed or warned and had no power over what my children had to see. It upsets me to think how many families have this in their homes, thinking they have a good, clean family film. What my children saw at the end did more damage than any good they got from the film. Do you want your five year old to watch someone being tortured and hanged? Neither did I. Don't buy this DVD. I am mortified to think they I gave several copies of this as Christmas gifts. I purchased those DVD's at a bookstore, and can only hope they do not include that movie trailer.

My five year old loves to build things, including legos, etc. He is having a blast with this. There are plenty of pieces and he spends a lot of time in creative play. The base is great and adds a great deal to the fun. The lights are an interesting addition as well. We got two light pieces with this set (another reviewer said it comes with four). You can't go wrong with this!

Santa brought this to my three year old son, who for some reason did not like it. I give it five stars for durability because my son attacked the bear, yet I was able to bend the arms, etc. back into shape, and they still work perfectly. Ok, yes, my three year old hates the bear, but my five year old son decided he wanted to adopt the bear. HE LOVES IT! It is wonderful to watch him take care of it. Five stars for educational value, because it really encourages nurturing interaction. Besides being adorable and soft, and making cute sounds and movements, I LOVE that the movements, etc. are very predicatable and it is easy to learn how to make them happen. My son learned right away how to make him hug, giggle, burp (a very cute innocent burp--not obnoxious at all), get hiccups, go to sleep, etc. What an adorable toy! And such an incredible price! I would give this bear as a gift to any child between 3-6.

Those other reviewers did not try to put the L-max in this case, because it fits perfectly--even with a cartridge inserted. I called the company to be sure before I bought it. They said it would fit, and it sure does! It's a great case! Love it!

I don't know about you, but I have been very confused about which leapster to buy. When I decided on the newest (hopefully the best) Leapster L-max, I was left confused by many reviews. Does the case work for it? What old titles work with the TV option? OK, so here is what I found out. (I hope this helps so you don't have to wait on hold for twenty minutes like I just did!). YES, the old leapster case does work just fine. The leapster L-max will be a little loose in there. That is fine with me. MOST of the old titles will work on the L-max AND work with the TV function also! Here are the titles that WON'T work on the TV: Disney Princess, Finding Nemo, School House Rock, Talking Words Factory, Incredibles, and Junie B Jones Journal. ALL of the others, including Mr. Pencil draw and write, and kindergarten, etc. WILL work on the L-MAX AND TV feature. The customer service rep did say that if the titles are available in both reg and L-max (such as Dora and Spongebob) to get the L-max version. Great starters: Letters on the Loose and Kindergarten. Hope this helps! (...) First, they must have very poor quality control, or I have extremely bad luck, because the first one we got the pen would not work on part of the screen (a spot about the size of a nickle). Yes, I tried recalibrating, but you can't recalibrate if the screen doesn't "feel" the pen. Very frustrating because one of the games I bought was letters on the loose, and the pen would not work on that very important spot. So I returned it to Walmart, and they gave me a new one. I also ended up buying the charger (...) because we went through new batteries in ONE day! So I get home and this new one has a spot on the screen that is dark. It still shows the picture, but it is darker than the rest of the screen. Very annoying. Especially considering what this toys costs! You would think it would work properly. My kids have enjoyed the L-max, and the more I play the games the more I appreciate them. They really are educational, and fun. So now I must decide if I should go back to Walmart AGAGIN! I don't want to wait two weeks like the other reviewer who is sending theirs back! Should I keep a defective one? Or risk getting another defect? By the way, the pen works great on this one--you just touch the screen very softly (And no, you don't have to push the button down all the time. The pen button is ONLY used with the TV function--it works like a mouse button (You push it to "select.") So apparently another reviewer has a defective one (Said the pen had to be pushed very hard). My sons like it a lot, even my very bright 8 year old, who of course has mastered all the games I bought, so I just ordered two of the more difficult games for him. I'm disappointed with the technical problems, but I guess we like the product so much we'll keep trying!

This is the most beautiful CD I own. Every song is a gem. My children love it almost as much as I do! I'm learning the songs to sing to them. If you have a friend who had trauma in their childhood, buy them this CD! It is so loving and nurturing and healing. Absolutely wonderful! I especially love John Lennon's "Love" and "The Last Unicorn."
