| OXO Good Grips Oven Thermometer | ||
![]() | "Accurate and Easy to Read" | 2009-02-12 |
| I'm on my second OXO oven thermometer. The face on my first one cracked somehow making it difficult to read, so I purchased a different, cheaper brand thermometer to replace it. Before I threw out the cracked OXO, however, I put both thermometers into the oven to test for accuracy. Either they were both accurate, or both inaccurate the the exact same degree. I'm going to assume accuracy. After several months of using the new one, I gave up. It had a solid face, making it impossible to read with the oven door closed. It was a great idea on the part of OXO to make it out of translucent glass. It is very easy to read with the oven light on. My only complaint is how it attaches to the oven rack. As someone else mentioned, if you bump it with your pan, it will fall off. If they would fix that, it would be a five-star item. | ||
| Kensington Slim Type Keyboard for PCs - 64365 | ||
![]() | "Nice, Quiet Keyboard" | 2007-08-08 |
| I got this keyboard after I read a review stating that it was very quiet. I had been looking for a quiet keyboard for a while, and this really delivered. The only downside, as several others have mentioned, is the layout. I have a problem with my haphazard typing skills of hitting the HOME button instead of BACKSPACE. So I tend to spend a lot of time retyping. It would also be nice if it were wireless, but you can't have everything. Other than that, I'd recommend it. | ||

![]() | "Great blender, but LOUD" | 2005-10-28 |
| I've been using this blender for months to make smoothies every morning, and sometimes even several times a day. It works great, crushing up ice and frozen fruit easily (though sometimes if the mixture is a little thick it has some trouble). My only issue with it is the noise. I know several reviewers have mentioned it already, but it's really bad. I rarely ever turn it to the high setting as it doesn't really need it--but it's mainly because on high, it'll just about blast out your eardrums. I like it and will keep it until it falls apart, then I'm shopping for something quieter. | ||
| Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 Step by Step | ||
![]() | "Great book for absolute beginners" | 2005-04-27 |
| This is a great book if you are totally new to FrontPage. I'm experienced with all the other MS Office programs, and was able to teach myself the basics of FrontPage while I waited for this book to come in--and in fact, had already created my first site. But if you don't have much of a background in MS Office products or webpage building at all (which I didn't), then this is a great book to start with. | ||
| The Essential EatingWell Cookbook: Good Carbs, Good Fats, Great Flavors (Eating Well) | ||
![]() | "Great Cookbook for Nutritious Eating" | 2005-04-19 |
| I'm a little bit of a cookbook junkie, and I'm always on the lookout for cookbooks that emphasize healthy recipes with whole grains, good fats, and low sugar. This book meets and exceeds all those desires. So far, I have made several recipes, and all were delicious. Recipes that I have used have inspired me to experiment based on some of the interesting combinations presented--with great results. The soup and stew recipes are wonderful. I highly recommend this--especially if you have the fear that healthy eating will taste bad, because the recipes in this book will prove you wrong. | ||
