| This DVD is perhaps the best DVD I have seen of DBZ. The fight sequences are well-choreographed and the story intriguing. The animation is great and the repetitive animations (the ones where the same few frames are shown again and again to symbolize length) are at a minimum. The sound, at least on the english audio, fits well. Also, there is quite a bit of stuff that will be cut out, making the purchase worthwhile. I have not yet seen the Japanese version yet, but I would buy this just for the english version. | ||

| I just bought this DVD and I would have to say that this is the best one I have ever gotten. It provides just the right amount of humor and action that Dragonball Z is famous for. My only gripe about the DVD is that they should have included the next episode as well. I have yet to see the episodes in Japanese, but be assured that if you like DBZ, you will love this DVD even if you don't watch the episodes is Japanese. The animation is surprisingly well-drawn for a 1989 production and the voices are great. The layout is the usual so nothing special there. For once, I am glad that I didn't wait for the episodes on tv, especially because they would edit things out (references to Buu's excretory system, for example) although it is not too bad so not alot will be taken out. Overall, a great DVD and well worth the price. | ||

| This DVD has 3 somewhat funny, somewhat action-oriented episodes. When I first saw the english episodes, I was disappointed. But I wasn't disappointed because of the music, dialogue, or anything to do with FUNImation's interpretation of the episodes. I wasn't happy because there was next to nothing that I couldn't wait and see for free on Cartoon Network. I personally couldn't see anything that would warrent an edit from FUNImation. The entire reason for owning a Dragonball Z DVD over the cheaper edited video is the censorship. But, when I took a look at the Japanese Version, I realized that it was well worth my 20 bucks. The parts that were supposed to be funny were, and made more sense than the English dialogue. Overall, if you like the funny parts of Dragonball Z and can bear some minor cusswords (they say them a lot in the Japanese version of these episodes) than I would recommend this DVD. Otherwise, wait for Cartoon Networks release on TV. | ||
