| Timex Sleek 50/100 Ironman Watch (# T54281 ) | ||
![]() | "Nice watch, but poor rubber watch bands." | 2008-09-13 |
| I like the watch unit. It has large numbers, with 2 interval timers, which are great for interval training. The bad part is the watch band. It cracks and breaks, and there is no way to replace it besides buying a new watch. Now I am looking for a watch with the identical features but with replaceable watch bands. | ||
| Logitech MX518 Gaming Optical Mouse - Metal | ||

| I have been using MX518 for more than two years, and it has been performing flawlessly. It glides smoothly, has page forward and backward buttons which are great for browsing the internet. It is durable and just keeps working.
I had a Micro$oft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 ($40) before, but it started malfunctioning after just a couple of months, it treats every single click as a double click, which made it completely useless. Worse than my other $2 mice. So I had to toss it out. I would never buy another Micro$oft mouse again because of that bad experience. I am thinking about buying another MX518 for my new laptop. MX518 is great. It is a classic. | ||
| Black Diamond Moonlight LED Headlamp | ||
![]() | "Worked fine for a while, until the power cable went bad." | 2005-09-11 |
| I got this headlight last year. I like it a lot until the light started going on and off everytime I move my head or jog. In the beginning it was just annoying, and in the end, the light won't even turn on. I wanted to know why a simple headlight behaves like this. So I tested the LEDs and the power cable with a multimeter. Guess what, the power cable that connects the battery unit to the LED unit is broken inside! How can that be? After further investigating the construction of this headlight, it became clear that when the factory worker was soldering wires to the LED unit and battery unit, the red or black wire inside the power cable sometimes aren't long enough, so the worker just pull it from the power cable sleeve, because the wires can be stretched somewhat. However, when pulled with excessive force, the wires will be overstretched, weakened, and finally break inside the sleeve. After digging this far, I think I can fix it. So I replaced the power cable with a piece of wire I have in my garage. I soldered everything back and it was as good as new. It is a nice headlight overall except the problematic power cable. When it works, it is a great product. When it doesn't work, now you know where the problem is. You have been warned. | ||
| Olympus DM-1 Voice and MP3 Recorder with WOW! Technology | ||
![]() | "Excellent to recorder lectures" | 2004-07-27 |
| I have used DM-1 to recorde lectures, and I am truly impressed by the quality of this unit. The microphone can pick up clear audio even when I sit several rows away from the instructor. The 64MB card can hold more than 10 hours of lectures. The unit accepts Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. So I keep two sets handy, and I never run out of batteries. When I come home, I can easily download the lectures to my PC via USB cable, and it sounds excellent on my computer. I love this unit! I think it is specifically designed for students to record lectures. | ||
