Nine Inch Nails - The FragileNine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Rated 5 Stars"Almost Speechless, For Once..." 2001-04-01
I normally do not strive for brevity when I review something that I consider to be genius...However, I did take a minute to read some of the prior reviews and Anthony's (see the review prior to mine) was completely on target. I can only, then, add some gratuitous praise for the spectacular art of The Fragile...People often wonder how I can love Mozart and Nine Inch Nails - simple - they are both creative geniuses. I can only hope that Mr. Reznor sticks around longer than Mr. Mozart....Whatever your music tastes, at least experience this album.

Wow! The first few times I heard the single "Insensitive" on the radio I was just listening on auto-pilot...I thought, "pretty song". Then I REALLY listened to the words one day shortly after a very bad break-up...The artist's sad irony and obvious pain was a catharsis. You know those songs on the radio that seem to be written just for you? This is definitely one of them! I only wish I could have telegramed it, bitter sarcasm and all, to that heartbreaker....

Jeffrey Osborne - Ultimate CollectionJeffrey Osborne - Ultimate Collection
Rated 5 Stars"A Voice Like Cognac..." 2000-09-13
Oh, Jeffrey, the memories! The first time I heard the smooth sounds of Jeffrey Osborne, I was attending a concert in 1983 (yikes!). I was instantly hooked. I must admit I have a penchant for the throaty, mellow tones of some of the older R&B artists. Jeffrey Osborne's sound is reminiscent of a finely aged bourbon -- soothing, sensual, and incredibly smooth. His ballads are just that - aching love songs, not an artist attempting to hold the note until you start looking for a truss. But the one song in this collection that made me an instant Osborne fan is "Stay With Me Tonight". A little faster paced than some of his larger hits, but one that will reach down in the pit of your stomach and make you feel...well..let's put it this way. Men, are you looking for an excellent make-out cd? Turn this track on and she'll be putty! This is one artist that deserves a very loud "Bravo!" Play it again, Jeffrey...

The Lost Boys: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackThe Lost Boys: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Rated 5 Stars"Eclectic, haunting soundtrack!" 2000-08-03
I am quite frankly surprised at the pan given to the movie and soundtrack by the editor!! The movie is entertaining; not an Academy-winner, but how many horror movies are? The soundtrack is exquisite..."Cry Little Sister" is gothic mystery at it's haunting best. "Lost In The Shadows", Echo & The Bunnymen's rendition of "People Are Strange", and Roger Daltrey's take of Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" are excellent and apropos to the movie's eerie theme. This soundtrack needs to be listened to appreciate!!
