Rated 4 Stars"an alternate holocaust story" 2009-04-11
This book is great a great alternative to other holocaust accounts. However, my male students did not like the fairy tale aspect of the book. Some of my younger, and more conservative students, objected to the homosexual references.

Rated 5 Stars"Great ideas" 2008-09-06
This book offers some great ideas for linking classical literature to contemporary young adult novels. I'm always looking for ways to show students that the classics are still relevant and I know I will reference this book often.

Rated 1 Stars"Audio out of sync with video" 2008-06-10
This DVD is awful. The audio is out of sync with the video and sometimes starts over midway through a pose. For one pose, the audio was for a completely different pose. I have another DVD that turns out to be the same set of routines, but on that one everything works.

We will not use this DVD again and I will write to BodyWisdom to complain. From now on I will probably stick with Gaiam videos as every single one of those has been of high quality.

Rated 5 Stars"Wonderful movie for all ages" 2008-05-30
This movie is heartwarming and inspiring. My husband has shown it to his high school students and they loved the movie as much as we do. I've loaned the DVD out twice and not received it back so this is the third time I've bought it - it's that good!

Rated 4 Stars"great read for my commute" 2008-01-27
I really enjoyed this unique story. Sometimes the worst characteristics of people were highlighted but it was done in such a comic way that you could not really dislike those characters - and in the end they all showed their positive sides. The protagonist is a 63 year old grandmother, juggling more things than I would have the energy to handle and trying to find time for the love of her life, her Romeo.

Rated 5 Stars"I look forward to teaching this" 2008-01-19
I really enjoyed this book and plan to buy the rest of the series. It has a good mix of adventure and romance so it will appeal to most of my high school students. The characters have distinct personalities and all of them show strengths in the story which could be a great jumping off point for a discussion on how we are all different and how our differences make society function better. Aside from thoughts about teaching, I simply couldn't put the book down because I wanted to know what happened next.

Rated 5 Stars"very interesting information" 2005-09-07
I read this book while doing research into povery and educational performance. It opened my eyes to a viewpoint that I had tried to ignore as it is not politically correct. The book offers solutions as well as defining problem areas. I think all school boards with failing students should at least take a look at this book.

This is my favorite soundtrack. There are different styles, but they all blend together wonderfully. John Williams is masterful, as ever, on the guitar.

Rated 5 Stars"Pleasantly Surprised" 2005-04-23
I didn't think I would enjoy this book (audio CD), but I needed something to listen to while commuting.. After the first drive to work, I was hooked!

The pace of the stories of the POWs and of the Rangers moves quickly enough to never allow boredom, and with plenty of detail. Even when the subject matter was ugly, the language was beautiful.

Humorous events and beautiful descriptions are interspersed throughout the narrative, making this more than a war story. One comes to know the soldiers as a people with families and a life beyond the Philippines and the war. The narrator's voice is easy to listen to.

I'm looking for more books like this so that I can enjoy my commute, again, instead of starting the day full of stress!
