Sony always provides products with good human interface engineering. This product is easy to use without any time spent in the manual. I bought an Insigna at Best Buy and took it back. I can plug this Sony into my USB port and my computer immediately recognises it as another drive and I can cut and past pictures as I would on any hard drive. The Insigna didn't have this capability so I had to first transfer the pix to a flash memory card and stick that into the frame. You will not regret paying a bit more if your time is of any value.

I find this sander a bit hard to use and find myself using my Porter Cable belt sander in most cases instead. To do the job right you should change belts to finer grit often and be very patient to take off only a tiny bit of wood at a time or you burn the wood and the belt. The belts are expensive unless you make your own but that task requires a lot of time. I can change a belt on my Porter Cable in 10-15 seconds. On the Jet it takes me 3-4 minutes. This is very frustrating. It is also difficult to perfectly level the gap between the table bed and the sander roller. And if you don't do this you will have uneven sanding. I could NEVER succeed in sanding a board wider than 16 inches even though that is the claim (16-32). This requires an absolute perfectly even gap between the table and the roller or you will see a "step" in the middle of the board. I suppose if I used this sander on a daily basis I would conquer some of these hurdles. If you are only going to use this sander occasionally, stick to you portable belt sander. On the positive side, the motor is powerful enough and well designed. The dust collection is effective (I use a 4" Jet dust collection system).

Portis takes you back 100 years simply in the vocabulary he uses in the masterpiece. Portis has an uncanny ability to let you understand the innermost thoughts and logic of Mattie. He describes Rooster and LaBoeuf so well that you feel you know them as well as old friends. He does this with most all the characters. I should have read this book 50 years ago. I would recommend reading it to your children ages 7-10 and encourage your older children to read it.

Longer lasting than other cartridges I have used. I find that the slightly higher price over third party ink jet cartridges is worth it. Even thought ink jet cartridges all seem to have a short life, I have been pleased with this Canon product as well as the my Canon iP4600 printer.

The good news is that I owned a PC352VS for 14 years and it served me well. I bought another one last week after the bearings on the front pulley failed on old faithful...not bad after 14 years. The bad news is that the new model DOES NOT provide a connection to a shop vacuum as did the old model. The dust collection bag is absolutely worthless. My shop and lungs were rife with dust after 10 minutes of use. The port happens to be exactly the same size 1 3/8" OD as your typical shop vac...1 3/8" OD. This is, in my opinion, a terrible design flaw by PC. I did find a solution however that I will share with you. I bought a 1 1/2" PVC pipe coupling which has an inside diameter just shy of the 1 3/8" OD of the PC and my 1 1/2" shop Fein shop vac. I used a Forstner 1 3/8" bit on my drill press and bored the ID a bit bigger on the PVC coupling. Voila, a nice connection which cost about 73 cents. I gave the new model only three stars for two reasons...first, this real design flaw and second because my PC Customer Service email asking for a recommended solution or adaptor went unanswered...never have heard back from Porter Cable.

The only negative comment from my wife is that there is too much detail about unions and their role in the hospital. Highly recommended.

I usually build furniture in my shop but I decided to take a diversion and try some "artwork". I always wanted to do some intarsia works but I thought this might be a good start. Wow!! Frank Droege presents some great ideas and outstanding plans for colors and cutting. I made all three works on the cover as well as some more inside. They are now hanging in our home, grandchildren's rooms and at our lake home. I highly recommend this book by Droege.

I have had a lot of bad experiences with "cheap" DVDs offered as "loss leaders" at places like OfficeMax and Best Buy. Don't go cheap on DVDs. You will regret it.

Opened the package, turned it on and in less than 3 minutes with motor on (didn't even sand anything) the nylon gear stripped making it completely useless. Reference other owners who had the SAME problem. The only saving grace was Amazon. I returned it without question and Amazon paid the UPS bill. Thanks Amazon.
