Itzbeen Baby Care TimerItzbeen Baby Care Timer
Rated 5 Stars"Itzbeen Indespensible" 2009-04-24
My brother got us a couple of these timers for our twins, telling us that a friend of his called it the single greatest gift he and his wife had received for their baby. My wife and I accepted them graciously, although my wife was a little skeptical that something so simple could be useful at all. She also believed it would probably be a ridiculous hassle to have to keep up with the gadget and click it every time a diaper was changed, a baby was fed, etc. Why not just use a pen and notebook?

Then the babies were born and we were tossed into the whirlwind, and sure enough, the Itzbeens were somehow right there in our hands whenever we fed, changed, or medicated. They have really kept our sanity, and have been one of the few products (other than bouncy seats and coffee) that have done so. It really is so ridiculously simple that it seems too good to be true. But it isn't. When you feed your baby, you click the button with the bottle icon on it. When you change 'em click the diaper button. Etc. for the sleep or "miscellaneous" button--can be used for whatever you want it to be.

So, the baby wakes you up at Oh-Dark-Thirty AM, and in your slumbering stupor, you're trying to figure out why your baby (babies, in our case) could be crying. Certainly, you just fed him or her a few minutes ago. So you grab his/her itzbeen (We have one for each baby and they're color-coded.), look at the numbers beside each button, and see that ITZBEEN 3:25 (three hours, twenty-five minutes) since you've fed the little tax-deduction and 4:00 (four hours) since you changed him/her, so take your pick, you've got work to do. It beats the heck out of using a stopwatch or notepad, as you may have other notepads to keep up with or just don't want to waste paper (Itzbeen good for the environment, too.). It's also cool that all the buttons and displays light up, it has an LED flashlight built in, it has a button lock switch and a sound on/off switch, and a little toggle to keep up with which breast was used during the last feeding if you're nursing. You can even set up an alarm to go off every X-amount of hours or whatever, if you're into alarms to remind you of what you've got to do.

A truly amazing product! I'm so glad we got it.

Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller IonicGraco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller Ionic
Rated 5 Stars"Cool Stroller" 2009-04-24
My original reasons for getting this stroller, I have to admit, were because 1. We were having twins and needed a tandem stroller, 2. We needed a gender-neutral color scheme, and this was about the best we could do in cohesion with the other criteria, and 3. I'm a brand snob and insisted upon Graco.

Despite spending more on this stroller than I really wanted to, I now see it as a worthwhile investment. Not only did it meet all our criteria, but it's just a really cool stroller.
I like the handle bars, which have a Star Wars-esque feel to them, in addition to just being comfortable after you've been pushing a while.
I also like the smoothness of the ride and the easy maneuverability. It is quite agile and can move in a surprisingly tight radius, considering the size of the stroller.
I also like the peek-a-boo sunroofs on the canopies. Although, it is clear plastic and what you see through it is a little muddled, to be honest, you can still get a good idea of your baby's status by looking through them. The one drawback is that sun can get in the eyes of the baby and make an otherwise pleasant Sunday afternoon stroll a loud and obnoxious screamfest. Future models should probably have some sort of flap that you can roll down and strap in place over the clear window, just so you have that option.
The storage space underneath the seating area is pretty immense, which is a bonus and it is scary easy to fold up the whole thing: You just slide te locking lever over with your thumb, twist the handle a little bit and it all collapses in on itself in one motion. It's not too heavy for me, but some, including my wife, may have difficulty heaving it into the back of the SUV. Another drawback is the fact that, even when folded up for storage, this stroller still takes up quite a bit of space. But you've gotto remember that this is a tandem stroller with a lot of features and huge storage space, so you've got to sacrifice something. I personally think it's worth it.
Finally, my favorite feature of all is the fact that I can snap in my two SnugRide32 infant carrier/car seats and go on about my business. However, it's not quite that easy, as it takes a little more effort and creative maneuvering to snap the carrier into place on the stroller, so make sure your infant is strapped in tightly before you try to put him/her into the stroller or take them out before snapping them in. Then again, I may not be doing something right. We'll see as we use it more. Despite the few flaws, I and my wife are very pleased with our Quattro Tour Duo, and so are the twins.

Garmin Nuvi 260 Pocket Vehicle GPS Navigator with Maps for North AmericaGarmin Nuvi 260 Pocket Vehicle GPS Navigator with Maps for North America

This product is a life-saver! We have used it on vacation, for house hunting, all kinds of stuff. In fact, the first time we took it out on a test drive, we encountered a gentleman needing medical attention out in the middle of rural SW Georgia and were able to find him a hospital even though we were unfamiliar with the area! It's amazing!

I like the fact that she (the nüvi: Since it has a female voice, we call it "she," her," etc., and she seems to have a little bit of a personality.) gives voice-prompts just at the right moment, right along with text-directions, appealing to both audio and visual learners/thinkers. I like the fact that she's pretty knowledgable about most areas. Rule of thumb: She knows her way around Atlanta and major cities and most rural areas, but her flaws become visible when it comes to finding recent developments. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by whomever makes updates the maps, not the nüvi, herself, since she can only give info based on the maps preloaded and updated on her system. I've even downloaded the 2009 City Navigator North America NT, and she is still unfamiliar with newer subdivisions and developments and some older places off some beaten paths. Sometimes she surprises you by finding out-of-the-way places you wouldn't expect her to find. However, none of this severely detracts from the overall usefulness and fun provided by the nüvi 260. You can even download extras from the Garmin website: vehicle icons, map updates, points of interest, etc., which help customize and personalize the device. I highly recommend this product to anyone. In fact, I have recommended it to just about everyone in my family, even the technologically illiterate people, because it has a very simple, intuitive interface (when you need to find or use a feature on the device, just touch whatever button or follow whatever series of buttons that seems to make the most sense, because that's most likely what you're supposed to do anyway), and the setup and features are things you probably would have designed into the device yourself. Go out and buy one!
