LG Xenon (AT&T) (Blue)LG Xenon (AT&T) (Blue)
Rated 2 Stars"A decent phone, but a bad SMS choice" 2009-10-06
The phone itself is pretty good, although the touch screen locks up on me. I am only able to unlock it by opening (or closing) the keyboard and re-closing (or re-opening) it. Quite a pain when you're in a hurry. There is also a noticeable lack of security on this phone as well. Your choices are pretty much "don't lock it" or "lock every time I try to do anything". But the worst thing about the phone is keyboard itself. The keys are way too small for anyone to realistically use, except someone with fingers as thin as pencils. If you press the letter A a little too hard, the email application opens due to the proximity of the email button. Same thing with the letter Z, only that launches the Internet browser. Other keyboard complaints include having to turn shift on and off after each capital letter. It only works as "Caps Lock" instead of "Shift". And the same thing goes for the Function key. You have to turn it off and on. It slows everything way down to the point of not really being worth using cases, and making it easier to type "eleven" instead of "11".

On the positive side, battery life is pretty good, and the camera is decent, although only 2 mega pixels. Video recording is decent as well.

My suggestion boils down to spending more money and buying the Samsung Impression, or spending less money and buying the LG Neon. Both have great keyboards, but the Neon's touch screen is only for dialing the phone. Everything else is done by buttons. This is a great phone, but it lacks the security required for a business environment. The Impression is definitely the leader of the pack with the great keyboard and the best touch screen out there!

Garmin StreetPilot 2720 Portable Color GPS Navigation System, Traffic ReadyGarmin StreetPilot 2720 Portable Color GPS Navigation System, Traffic Ready
Rated 5 Stars"Excellent Automtive GPS, great investment for under $400" 2007-04-11
Since the 2720 has been out for of couple of years now, they are easily found at great prices. This is the second Garmin automotive GPS I have owned, and I am continually impressed with Garmin's product quality, service, and easily installed product updates. I did quite a bit of comparison shopping prior to purchasing the 2720, but my mind was made up when I decided that a GPS was a GPS, not an mp3 player, cell phone, or slideshow device. All the big manufacturers, Garmin included, are packing way too much technology into the newer versions. The 2720 is a full featured GPS. It has all the bells and whistles required, and not too much extra "marketing fluff".

The only thing that I wish this had was battery operation, even if only for a short time. I'd love to be able to plug this into my computer without having to find an A/C outlet for power. Then again, it was made for the car, and with all the preloaded maps, it gives you 99% of what anyone could ask for in a GPS.

I recommend this device to anyone looking for a quality device from a reputable manufacturer. Garmin is the leader of the pack when it comes to the automotive market. No one comes close!

Rated 5 Stars"Outstanding bag, built very well, rolls easily, lots of room" 2007-04-02
I read all the product reviews here on Amazon, and I have to admit that I was hesitant, given the complaints about the handle. But, given the Wenger reputation for quality (and personal experience with a Wenger laptop backpack - see MAXXUM from SwissGear by Wenger Computer Backpack Red), I bought one. I am very pleased with the bag and have no buyer's remorse whatsoever. The reputation for quality is well deserved.

As mentioned in other reviews, this bag has a ton of room. I am able to pack all my tech stuff in it as well as two full days worth of clothing without having to stuff it. The smaller laptop bag that fits inside the larger one is absolutely perfect for toting a 15.4" laptop with a power supply and a pad of paper. This works out great when traveling. I can leave the big stuff in the hotel and just bring the important stuff to the remote office.

The unit rolls very well. I can see what people had complained about as far as the handle is concerned, but it really isn't that bad. It may take a couple of pushes or pulls to get it to lock in place, but once it is in place, I haven't had any problems with it moving when it wasn't supposed to. It is such a minor issue that I wouldn't even begin to call it an inconvenience.

This thing is built like a tank. The zippers are very strong and all the seams are stitched very well. It's nice to take a brand new bag out of the box and not see loose strings hanging off the edges.

The one and only thing I could complain about, which isn't even the bag's fault, is that it just barely meets the size restrictions for carry-on luggage. It is pretty difficult to fit in most overhead airline storage bins. But like I said, that isn't the bag, it's the overhead airline storage bins.

I recommend this bag to any road warrior who wants an all-in-one solution for 1-3 day trips. This gets five stars and a thumb's up!

HP iPAQ hx2795 Pocket PCHP iPAQ hx2795 Pocket PC
Rated 5 Stars"HP's best pocket PC to date" 2006-08-11
This is the third iPaq I've purchased in the last 5 years. It has all the bells and whitles of the previous versions with the newer version of Windows Mobile. other than better memory management (a lot better, I might add) the only other difference Win Mobile 5 added was PowerPoint.

The Bluetooth interface works better than previous versions. I was able to set up a secure Bluetooh HotSync partnership in less than a minute.

One issue I have to whine about is the fact that the wireless connectivity is still 802.11b. Come on, 802.11g has been out for years, and yes, it uses more power than "b", but this is a handheld PC designed for Power Users. I need the speed that "g" provides. And another thing, the wireless management software included with the iPaq shows my signal strength at under 30% when I am standing 2 fee away from my wireless access point. What is up with that?

In any case, this is a device that, if you're already familiar with iPaqs and Windows Mobile, has no surprises in it. It is dependable and solid. The complaints I have are generally cosmetic and have no impact on the device's functionality. I recommend this to anyone looking for a stable Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5.

If I had to do it all over again, I would!

Toshiba Qosmio G15-AV501/R 17Toshiba Qosmio G15-AV501/R 17" Notebook PC (Mobile Intel Pentium M Processor 745 (Centrino), 512MB, 100 GB Hard Drive, DVD SuperMulti Drive)
Rated 5 Stars"Outstanding Media Center Desktop Replacement" 2005-06-08
I bought my Qosmio in November of 2004 for work. I telecommute, so I am at home, at a hotel or at the office working basically 7 days a week. The intent was to have a Media Center capable device on a high end portable computer. This is all that and more! Every aspect of MS Media Center functions flawlessly, and there is no room for complaint. The one thing I would like to see is changed is the hard drive configuration. For a device as high end as this, Toshiba should lose the 60/40GB drives and come stock with dual 100GB drives in a RAID-0 array. That would be something to brag about. Overall, I have no compaints other than the price and the weight, but I knew those factors when I bought it, and the sheer performance outweighs those drawbacks. I have used this device daily for seven months now. No regrets or remorse.

The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (Widescreen Edition)The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (Widescreen Edition)
Rated 5 Stars"To be expected" 2003-09-03
Well, what can I say that hasn't been said already? Awesome flick based on an awesome trilogy. More violent than the first installment, but the graphics are awesome - Gollum comes to life! I can't wait until December to see how they do with the third installment. Word on the set was that Return of The King is essentially saving the best for last. The battle for Helms Deep is one of the best action sequences I have ever seen in any movie. I read the books over 25 years ago and everything came to life. The Ents are truly awesome. Walking trees that actually look cool while walking? It doesn't get any better!
