Its the real thing. If you can't grow a crop with this product, seek medical help...Really though, its too simple and straight forward to screw up. I am on my second crop of peppers and it looks like the first crop wasn't a fluke. The only drawback is the fact that the veggie leafs get too tall so fast, even with the recommended pruning, that the light hood needs to be removed and you have to allow mother nature light to finish it off. I understand Aero has a new unit that is a bit larger and addresses this problem. Growing veggies this way is a reward you wouldnt believe. The peppers I have are so flipin' hot that your skin burns if you dont wash your hands after cutting them up. Not kidding. The unit takes up only a minimal amount of room and tending. Indicator lights go off when its time to add water and nutrients. True Gardening for Dummies. There have been other counter-top gardening kits offered in the past but most are clunky and messy to use, producing sickly looking plants. Not this one. Give it a try. Its kind of fun and you'll enjoy the results.

Rated 5 Stars"The official "Beatle Breakup Album"." 2007-09-30
If you were around back then you remember that we all still couldn't quite believe or be absolutely certain if the fab four were all done or not. Hoping, just hoping for that one last album. Never happened really. McCartney turned his back on the boys, told them all to bugg off for a bit and fired up his home brew studio to create a masterpiece. It was a mindblower. When news of this album's pending release came out, everyone was skeptical. Will it be Beatlish kind of music or some new type of sound that Paul had in his private stash or a complete bust. Turned out, it wasn't any of those. It was Paul, in a studio, just being left the hell alone to do what he wanted. Paul will go down in history as having been the "bossy" Beatle in the studio. Always sparing and taking swings at the rest of the group (mostly John...no contest there) to try and get the music done his way. He didn't have to do that on his first solo release.. Pure Paul...like it or lump it. We liked it. Liked it so much that fans eventually changed the name of the album for him. Unofficially retitled "A bowlfull of Cherries", this recording holds up perfectly in modern day. I wish Paul would go back to that studio and do another one like it. Do away with all the digital this and that, dubs and overdubs etc etc etc and just build another masterpiece. Maybe he still has that 8 track machine around..

Rated 5 Stars"A Rock star even your parents liked." 2007-09-09
Its not the norm in the 21st century to see a top act and high end rock star maintain from year to year and not be busted for drugs, involved in a nightclub shooting, 3-4 divorces, wife beatings, multiple trips to rehab, suing or being sued, and not to mention the all time favorite of mine, not showing up for the show. Nope. Not Neil. Always the pro, always the class act. I love well-done live albums and this is one of them.. Hot August was Neil at full-on. One hell of a rocker on stage and always doing what he did best: Capturing the audience. Hot August was recorded and mixed first class all the way. 70's technology was blooming and a lot of engineering artist heads were coming out of the closet.. No crappy audio or mismatched vocals. THe Greek Theatre was a perfect Neil venue. Large but not that big. The audience is right there with him. Neil goes through pretty much his entire catalog of the day including his early 60's pop hits. Fun stuff, all of it. Great to turn up loud and best if purchased in MOFI or SACD. I blew out my very first set of Altec speakers playing Hot August..I know I know, we all thought Neil was going to end up as a piece in Rolling Stones "Where are they now" articles that get published every so often. Guess not. Its OK to listen to Neil. Don't be embarrassed. You need not hide Hot August Night in between your Floyd and Zep albums. This guy could rock and knew how to get the perfect band behind him to make it sound all that much better. No, he's not Wayne Newton and not Kurt Cobain. He's Neil and he's right in there with the crowd.

Some reviewers of this and similar items by pherone seem to miss the point of the product. Boys, its NOT an aphrodisiac. You don't put a drop on yourself and then expect her clothes to come off. It doesn't work that way. This is a product that will open the door for you to pursue your interest. Like a bee checking out a flower. Yes, it does work. How do you know? Women who are complete strangers to you want to chat or strike up a conversation of some kind. You'll notice that part right off. One thing to remember. It tends to work with all women, not just the hotties. Thats something I wasn't quite prepared for. And, yes a few may not see anything in you at all. The best way to use d17x is a drop or two on the underside of your wrist. Rub together with both hands and your set. I dont put it on clothes. Some chemicals and laundry soap residues seem to kill it off, or neutralize it or something. Dont over-do it. Women don't smell it but men can, and it comes across as a sort of ammonia/chlorine odor. Its the real deal boys, but like I said, its not the special pill you slip into her drink. You have to participate in the talk talk. D17x gets that going for you. A great way to break the ice..

Linda Ronstadt - Don't Cry NowLinda Ronstadt - Don't Cry Now
Rated 5 Stars"If they had 6 stars this one would get it.." 2007-09-03
Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Grace Slick, Aretha Franklin, Ann Wilson and Linda Ronstadt. Yeah, their's others but this is the best of the best and Linda is on the board of directors.. Female vocalists with voices that, with rare exception you dont hear much of in todays music. Its all Diva's and digital now. BUT if its digital then Mobile Fidelity did one fine fine job on Dont Cry Now. God it sounds beautiful. I am so glad MOFI came back..I have a huge MOFI collection and this is one of the best. MOFI had some great material and excellent 70's era technical groundwork already at hand before they began their own mastery. This is Linda when she was really beginning to hit stride. The voice was settled down and her music was taking on that signature smooth-as-silk sound. No matter what Linda sings, its always perfect. Even today her voice is exactly like it was 30 years ago. I've caught some flack for this opinion but I've always thought that Linda was Roy Orbison's counter. It hits you the same way. The emotion and drive that comes out of her is virtually unequaled. Another fun fact is Lindas 70's era album covers. One smokin hot lady. You couldn't wait to see the next one..right boys? Yes its a guy deal but fellas you know what I'm talking about..Every Ronstadt album cover gave you a clue as to what was inside for your musical enjoyment. Dont Cry Now is an example of yet again, a top end musician who surrounds herself with nothing but the best. From writers to engineers. J.D. Souther and Peter Asher teamed up on this recording to produce a masterpiece, and. Linda's voice will hypnotize you. I promise.

The Kingston Trio - The Kingston Trio/...From the The Kingston Trio - The Kingston Trio/...From the "Hungry i" [Collector's Choice]
Rated 5 Stars"Perfect" 2006-10-09
Fella's, it just doesn't get any better than this. I call it perfect because
it is. American music with a light snap of latino twang just for flavor. This is college folk music that's actually fun to listen to.. And by "fun", I don't mean dance music or bubbly pop crap of the time. Not so. Folk music coming out of the 50's and 60's was often a bit of a bummer to listen to. The message often overode the ability to listen. Not so much the Kingston Trio. You can hear the "fun or nothing" rule in each cut. Dave Guard, Bob
Shane and Nick Reynolds were the perfect band, the perfect group. The latter day versions of the K.T were good but not the original receipe. They could
cover every emotion; fun, somber, sad, happy and happy drunk.

I only have one wish for Kingston Trio music; That "Fast Freight" will be
covered by Crosby Stills Nash and maybe Young. "Scotch and Soda" was the tune that would assure that you would be having breakfast with last nights date. All perfect.

War As I Knew ItWar As I Knew It
Rated 5 Stars"A General's General." 2006-09-03
This has to be one of those always-at-hand reference books that modern day military leaders pick up and consult. Not so much for the academic and technical resource because it of course, is a bit dated in that regard, but simply to understand and hopefully learn what leadership in it's ultimate pure form really is. Patton had it. It goes without saying that World War II would have been finished much different if it was not for his style and drive. Certainly the most quotable allied general of the war. Todays business leaders and managers (myself included) read books like "War as I knew it" and come away with a renewed confidence in the human potential. Patton pulled every ounce of self worth out of his men to achieve the final victory. It was his standing order. This book discusses in detail how he did that and why. All explained very clearly. His style was unorthodox, his demeanor sometimes in question, his spirituality vivid and some battlefield decisions nearly cost him his career. "War as I knew it" will read at times like a dull teacher giving a lecture. Stick with it and breath it in. This is full-on George Patton. It all still works in the 21st century.

Rated 5 Stars"Mustang Lovers consider this movie a religion.." 2006-08-27
All the way, the best chase scene in motion pictures. Better than the Godfather, the 7-ups or any of those. Mcqueen was just a lock and load tough guy in this movie. No one will ever bang a 67 Coupe thru San Francisco the way Steve (or the driver double) did in this flick. The plot is your basic cop flick going after a killer/bad guy but don't try to fool anyone; You're waiting for that one shot where Steve spots the black Charger and the chase is on.. The rest of the movie is basic cops and robbers. I liked the movie. By the way, if you have your video system is going thru your hifi, the chase scene is a full-on TURN-IT-UP-LOUD neccessity. To hear that Mustang banging thru the gears is just the way it should be. If your wife or girlfriend says its too loud, too bad. This is a guy flick from long ago. Have fun with Bullit. It was McQueens attempt at trying to do his own thing without Hollywood getting in his way. He almost pulled it off. Selmar productions died a quick death but left a legacy.

Superman Lives!Superman Lives!
Rated 3 Stars"Superhero Novels just don't land..." 2006-08-25
Superman Returns is "OK"...but frankly, it's like reading a comic book without the pictures. I've read the Batman series and other Superman/Superhero stuff. Some are pretty good but most just don't hook me. Especially screen play adaptations. Superman comes off a bit too human and vulnerable in this current edition. Lex Luthor is done well. Typical wack-o who's once again going to take over the world but doesnt quite pull it off. Lois Lane is still the high strung outta-my-way ace reporter..this time with a twist. Jimmy Olson is still a goofball. Perry White still has a temper. Its fun to read and not at all strapped with long winded dialog and conversation. Lots of opportunity for visualization.

Michael Jackson - ThrillerMichael Jackson - Thriller
Rated 5 Stars"Its like a bad accident, you can't look away.." 2006-08-13
Face it. This was the best damn music to come out of MJ, audio or video. Jackson hooking up with Quincy Jones was like ten Lennon and McCartneys and and a couple of Bob Marleys all in one mixmaster. I remember when I first heard this album, thinking "He'll never be able to follow this one up". I was right...like a lot of people who thought the same thing. Everything afterwards just didnt have it. Downhill he went...the rest history. THis CD with SACD to kick its [...] is designed to pop your speakercones right out on to the floor. Thriller, right off the shelf all those years ago was top notch in sound to begin with, add a bit of remix and some technology and gawd...Vincent Price's voice at the end of it is sooooo real it creeps you out, like it's suppose to. Put all the headlines and People Magazine articles aside and go back to the early 80's before it all went wrong. Michael was hittin it on all eight cylinders.

Rated 5 Stars"two fer one" 2006-08-11
So many many DVD's come out with a "b" side hook full of outakes and dopy commentary offered by a bored actor or director who you can visualize constantly looking at their watch while jabbering away. Not Spinal Tap. THere is, quite literally a whole other movie on side two. Another hour plus of outakes, floor clippings and the like, all pieced together as a kind of Spinal Tap II.. Every bit as good as the original. Seriously, what a deal!. This DVD is a great gift for anyone who's a musician or in the biz. Rob Reiner clearly built this flick for that audience. Lots of insider bits. This movie hits on all cylinders when it comes to actor talent. Perfect picks for the parts.

Johnny Cash - At San Quentin (The Complete 1969 Concert)Johnny Cash - At San Quentin (The Complete 1969 Concert)
Rated 5 Stars""Audience Participation" like you've never heard it before.." 2006-08-09
What Peter Frampton did with with "Frampton Comes Alive", Johnny Cash accomplished a few years earlier with "Live At San Quentin". It takes place in a hell-hole prison, so to say you have an attentive audience is an understatement. Everytime John scratched, talked, sang or twanged a guitar, this audience went up in flames. This crowd is all but up on the stage during this recording and you can hear them loud and clear. The late 60's and early 70's was Johnnys period of total convidence. Not just with his music but with his political views. The "Man in Black" thing was getting explained in clear detail. Not a popular thing to do for what was then still considered "ol boy country". You listen to "Live" and you are certain a riot is damn near ready to break out. Its that vivid. Excellent job in the mastering and mixing on the re-issues. THe audience is right there with John and crew. Not just some background noise and clapping after a tune is finished. Johnny Cash was the toughest man in the game. All guts, no ego and pure talent. Compare it to the panty waist fluff and digital garbage that country music has mostly become in the 21st century you'll see what I mean. Sure some is OK, but how many [..] and tight jeans does it take to make a country tune today?? Cash didnt need it for HIS music.

Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far EastLife and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East
Rated 5 Stars"Not a weight loss or self help book..." 2006-07-27
I can see how western civilization readers may have a very difficult time accepting Life and Teachings as nothing more than black magic. It goes very deep. This is not a series of books that you sit down and read like the DaVinci code. Have you ever, as an example, opened up the King James version of the New Testament at your hotel room and tried to actually read it and take any of it in? Its tough. Not a page turner. Kind of boooorrring. No wonder we have sunday church to get us through it all. Life and Teachings has to be read in small bites people. Really. Yes, there is a message of sorts that comes out of it: Your religion is right. So is your neighbors and so is there neighbors. Yet it doesnt focus so much on "religion" as it does on the human potential. Thats where its at. And, thats where this read keeps going. This is not an easy book series to get through. Dont pick it up and expect "an answer" right away. You have to work a bit. Like a textbook rather than a Dan Brown Novel. It's laughable that people who read about "men that move mountains or part waters etc" can't comprehend it in anything other than magic. Life and Teachings is a thinker series. You read a bit. You stop. You think. Pick it up later and read some more. Not entertaining nor was it meant to be, but it strikes a lightning bolt at a few nerve endings you didnt know you had. And, no, you won't have to send any money to a special group or PO Box at the end. They dont have a Web site either. Baird Spalding is quite dead as are all the other scientists that went into those mountains in the late 1800's that resulted in this book series. Read it. Don't worry. You won't grow hair on your palms and it won't corrupt your 21st century thinking on modern christianity. The message of Life and Teachings is; Put down your swords. Everyone's right about why we "are". Buddah, Jesus, Allah, Mohammmed, everyone of you....YOu all came down the same road from the same hilltop and this is an excellent tutorial on how that could be and examples of the human potential. Its nothing new. No revelations. Millions of years have gone by and its all still the same except on-going arguments.

Rated 5 Stars"Before Stalag 13..." 2006-07-26
there was Maybe I'm dead. Right to the gut, this is the book about P.O.W. camp life and World War II. Joe klass grabs you right from the start. You're with these guys right to the end. Stalag 13 was the one you heard about, Maybe I'm Dead is where it came from. Total first class writing all the way. This book puts you there. Written long ago, this book is written in a style thats right up to date in the 21st Century. It was the first full length novel I read when I was very young and it still reads like gangbusters today. No dissapointments when you finished Maybe I'm Dead. A totally complete book. No cheap hooks, phoney gotcha's or shortcuts.

Paul McCartney, Wings - Venus and Mars [Bonus Tracks]Paul McCartney, Wings - Venus and Mars [Bonus Tracks]
Rated 5 Stars"Never a better followup album was ever made.." 2006-07-26
Band on the Run was the album that finally busted Wings out of that wandering rut of waiting for Paul to get a good band around him. Venus and Mars is the follow-up that had McCartney and the band playing at total confidence. Everything worked. Even Linda had it goin' on. His vocals and bass playing all dead on. It makes you wonder if Beatle music had carried on a bit, would they have turned the sound direction to somthing like this. Venus and Mars is just plain damn fun to listen to, even all these years later. When the Wings Over America tour was going, Venus and Mars tunes really got the crowd on its feet. If you were at that concert, you'll recall that "Rock Show" was the opening number. The remastered CD versions helped the sound a lot. You can hear Denny and Jimmies guitars much better and Pauls bass cleans up nice. It doesnt mush out the tunes that was the tendency on the Vinyls. Band on the Run, Venus and Mars then Wings at the Speed of Sound are the three Wings essentials to any collection. If you havent gone CD on your old Wings LP's yet, start with those.

Rated 4 Stars"Bill knows lots of people...hundreds." 2006-07-19
And he was careful not to forget and mention EVERY SINGLE DAMN ONE OF THEM in his book!
I enjoyed the book. I really did. Bill is a smart guy and its very clear throughout this monster read how he became a president. Not to take a political stance but I can't see George Bush JR writing a biography such as this after he leaves office. Certainly not by himself anyway. Bill Clinton was going to BE somebody. It was his plan. But gawd, stopping every other page to name drop was like halting a TV movie every 5 minutes for a commercial. Like hitting a speed bump on the interstate. It hurt the flow. "My Life" was always getting detoured so Bill could give someone a polite mention and a quick associated life story to go with it. Excellent book, lots of interesting stuff and not heavy with politics. Bills not running for anything and that helped make for a great book.

Holidays in HellHolidays in Hell
Rated 5 Stars"Total Classic PJ" 2006-07-03
I've read everyone of PJ's books, this one is his signiture writing if there is such a thing. Its up on the night stand with Catcher in the Rye and a few others that I pick up and re-re-re read every year. Holidays in Hell is a bit dated now but still the best thing he's ever done. I wish PJ would do a 21st century version of this book. Unfortunatly it doesnt seem that he talks about his travels much anymore. Lately, some of his books are getting a bit heavy and intense to read and seem to have less of that usual built in fun. Thats OK. Thats where his heads at now I guess.. I think PJ may be turning into (or already is) a crotchity old man who likes to complain alot. He is, however, the best writer in satire journelisem there ever was. I'm always looking on the book shelves or Amazon for a new PJ.

Its the first time I've ever read a book and finished it before the movie version of the same thing ended. Sure, its the theatre book but, wow...how they did a screen play adaptation from that I'll never know. Its one of those rare instances where you need to see the movie first, then read the book.

Glengarry Glen RossGlengarry Glen Ross
Rated 5 Stars"If you're in street sales, this movie will be like a horror flick to you.." 2006-03-12
You wont understand much of it otherwise. There's a 10 minute scene with Alec Baldwin (his only appreance in the film) that I used to show my sales crew in my own business. All tongue and cheek but sort of not. Alec gives one of the best manager ass-chewings I've ever seen on film or real life. Its dark and dank throughout the whole movie. But not in a depressing way really. It also sets a record of sorts for how many times the "f" word is said. It's real world. Jack Lemmon plays the not-quite-burnt out gray beard looking for one last home run. Al Pacino was totally, completly slick. You want to buy somthing from him but you can't because its a movie.. He's that good. Kevin Spacy is the whipping post beat on office manager and Ed Harris is just plain pissed at the world thru the whole flick. One of those "its everybodys elses fault" type roles. But to fully take in and absorb G.G.G.R, a serious street sales background will bring this first rate production right into your head. EG; You'll "get it". By the way, if you prefer certain movies that have NO female cast members anywhere, here's your movie. Not one. (Actually a waitress in a restaraunt makes a 2 second showing but that's it) Yes, Its a kind of guy flick but in an office setting and nothing blows up and no guns. Action packed however, except with suits and ties.

Rated 5 Stars"Its already been said but....." 2005-07-11
All the previous reviews already say it....Dont know anything about Roy Orbison? You will after seeing this. Watching it pulls all the emotion out of you whether you want it to or not. But what really tells it is watching the look on Bruce Springsteens face throughout the entire concert. He's literally star struck. He can't believe he's actually playing on stage with Roy Orbison. And this is 1987. Bruce was somewhat of a major act of his own at the time.
